Video Presentation: "A Trip to the Promised Land" by Bob McNeish

My close friend, aged 82, died last month, but not before he took a breath-taking trip to the Promised Land. Not only is it beautiful, it is quite informative. It is even eye-opening and inspirational. It is a full 1 gigabyte in size. I uploaded it as a W

Oldsters, Tax Preparers, and You

If you've read very many pieces written by me, you may well know that my most highly detested song is, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year." No it isn't! Not only is it dark and dreary, cold and windy, so-forth-and-so-on, it is followed without a br

Pork What? Beef What?

Did you ever wonder, when you were in the grocery store, what it means when a food is said to contain pork or beef? I mean like, is it made from pork shoulder? pork tenderloin? pork butt? Or could it be made from some part of the pig that you don't want t

Foods More Often Available During Holiday Season?

I celebrate zero holidays. Zilch, none, nada. However, there are many foods that appear on store shelves specifically for the holidays and are not only available, but are cheaper. For instance, Thanksgiving and turkey. At my local grocery store, we obtain

Remembering Abbott and Costello

Many still recall the names Abbott & Costello. We realize they were one of the finest classical comedy teams, appearing in Burlesque, radio, TV, and the movies. Yet few of us are aware of events in their lives that shrouded the personal happiness of th

Was It an Accident or On Purpose? No. It Was Something Else

You've heard it said by kids. You've heard it said by adults. "I didn't do it on purpose. It was an accident." But if something undesirable occurs and the person doesn't do it on purpose, is it automatically an accident? No. Consider an example. George

Phony Piano Playing

I love a good drama, and particularly I watch quite a few detective shows. What really bugs me about these shows is when certain details are phony. What details? I hate it when a phone number is given with the exchange (555). These originated, as I unde

A Superfund Site in Nelson County, Virginia

Have you ever heard of a Superfund Site? It's a location in the U.S. where the local environment has been so threatened by hazardous waste, the EPA puts it on the National Priorities List. Such a site is located in my adopted home, Nelson County, Virginia.

Thank You, Japan!

This fall I've begun to notice my QuirkyScience website is being visited more and more by Japanese readers. In fact, at this particular moment, payment generated by Japan is in 2nd place only to the U.S. for me. The UK, Canada, Australia and other Eng

Good day to you

May 27, 2017, 11:18 PM

I agree. I almost feel like the last man standing. I will begin fresh at HubPages and just a little bit at myLot. Meantime I will be available via email and will be reading more of your articles at Querky Science and Decoded Science. Maybe one day a new site will exist that pays and that provides some level of good writers. myLot is not a serious writing site but I find it comforting to be able to stay in contact with some former writers of Bubblews. I will never stop writing. It's always been my nature.

There should be some new type of format I agree. And if things keep going like they are I am not very encouraged I have to admit. I am glad you have always been supportive of me Vincent. You led me out of Yahoo! C N and into the land of bubbles. Things were going well for a while until the big bad Panda 4.0 algorythm. As of October 1, 2015 Google unrolled the latest update of Panda to version 4.2 and that was half a year ago.http://searchengineland.com/google-panda-4-2-is-still-rolling-out-232095

I can't remove a former comment I made. But in any case I appreciate you for following me. It means a lot to me.

I have got a Hubpage account, so I guess I'd better get busy using that! I keep an eye on your 'Quirky Science' pages.
