Yucky News at the Oil Change Shop

The other day I did an oil change mystery shop. All went well and they didn't find any big problems with my car, which is always a relief to me. What they did find was a mouse nest under or behind the oil filter, (I think they said oil filte

Persuasive Advertising

I generally say I am not swayed by advertising. I am not the first to rush out and try something new; often I am the last. For example I do have a cordless phone, but I still have the one with a cord that was my only phone long past the time ev

This is What Passes for a Hill on the Prairies

On Wednesday, I rode my bicycle 8 kilometres. 4 km to town on gravel; a leisurely ride up and down every street in town to enjoy riding on pavement! and the 4 km home. Towards the end, I hit the "hill" in the photo. When I drive on t

Backsliding

But It's Okay Last night I went to bed without doing the dishes or tidying the kitchen. I have hot spots from the living room couch and coffee table, to the dining room table to my bedside table and dresser. (a hot spot is a FlyLady term meani

No Rummage Sale for me

This is a random post of my random day. I wanted to go to a big rummage sale in a town about 75 km away. I really have no other reason to go to that town and I really have nothing to look for at a rummage sale. Well, I would

Fried Green Tomatoes Etc.

I already had to scrape a hard frost off my windshield this week. The night before that I had given in and picked all of the green tomatoes. I could have covered them as we have had a couple of nice warm days since. But some creatur

Rain - Writing Prompt

oneoveralpha has issued the writing prompt - Rain. I have some random thoughts on rain. On a vacation in Hawaii, I experienced rain that falls gently on a warm day. It was almost misty. We walked along an barely got wet. The rain s

8 myths about mystery shopping

1. It's always secretive - This is true most of the time. I usually carry out a transaction in a business and report on the interactions I have. But today there is no secret. I am visiting 5 convenience stores with clipboard and a checklist. The emp

Time to Get Organized

School is winding down. I am scheduled for one half day as a substitute teacher next week. Actually that surprises me, often the last week I am not called at all. This week I worked every day which also surprised me! Now, it's time

65 Questions You've Probably Never Been Asked

I saw the "65 Questions" on a post by GemOfAGirl . I enjoy reading these sort of posts. 1. First thing you wash in the shower? Face but I never take showers; I take baths. 2. What color is your favorite hoodie? I

Thank-you for your comment. If you have had your ear pierced for awhile, which is sounds like you have, I would try to insert an earring asap. If it works, fine. If not, you have a decision to make. Get it pierced again or never be able to wear earrings again.

I've actually completed 2 shops so far :) Hopefully they aren't marked as invalid so I get paid for them! Lol

Thank you! :) I have my first job on Saturday! I'm nervous but excited. I just don't like that you aren't allowed to ever have anyone with you at any jobs, even if they stay totally separate from the job. I don't like going out to eat or shop by myself a lot! Lol

Hey! :) I got approved by Market Force but I want to double check something. On the "Select Shops" page there is a column that says "Shop fees" and I'm confused as to whether the shop fee is what we will get paid, or if it's what we have to pay? There's one that says "Shop Fee $6, In store reimbursement up to $11, Milkshake reimbursement up to $5." - Does that mean I'll get $6 from the job AND get reimbursed if I buy anything? I just don't want to have a surprise charge on my account -_- Lol
