Goodbye Beautiful Wisteria
Had no idea it's been so long since I've been here! I've been so busy with writing, gardening, painting outdoor furniture, socializing, and the like, that time has simply whizzed by! And in terms of yard work, ours has been stepped up because one of my son

Questions for PPers "In The Know"
I wonder... Is it okay to use screen shots taken from Google Earth or live-streaming web cams? (I mean from when you are roaming around on street views.) Since I started writing little "vignettes of life" bios, I've been visiting towns and villages where I

Outhouse Adventures
And back to St-Georges with our gaily-painted outhouse...
Our genial landlords warned my parents that pranks abounded on Halloween, especially targeting the last remaining outhouses. Even though theirs was abandoned once they installed indoor plumbing, it

Roughing It
When I was almost four years old we moved to St-Georges, a French-speaking village in Manitoba. (We had recently moved back to Canada after a year and a half in Los Angeles where I had been misdiagnosed with diabetes after gobbling a few bananas sprinkled

Frustrated!
So, for the first time, I decided to just go ahead and write a couple of articles here, right on the PP page, since others seem to do that and it obviously cuts out steps. I completed two, each within a different PP tab on my browser. Seems reasonable? Wel

Memoirs?
A while back my twenty-four-year-old son recommended that I write my memoirs, if only for him and his eventual progeny. This was after I told him that I someday want to write a family history, novelized. And though I thoroughly enjoy Persona Paper and any

The Oscars Being Televised... Everywhere?
Two dogs and one cat draped over me, I am semi-watching the red carpet before the beginning of the Oscars. (Gotta say, it's hard to type this way...)
It's amazing that this show is being broadcast all over the world, no matter the time of day. But I have

Kennedy Was Assassinated on My Seventeenth Birthday
The posts, “Abraham Lincoln Was the Best American President” by cmoneyspinner , and “The Most Important Beatles Song is The Most Forgotten” by arthurchappell , inspired me to write this one.
I was attending a post (high sch

In Which Make of Car Did You Learn To Drive?
GemOfAGirl recently wrote of “Our Relationship With Our Cars”, and I was reminded of the car in which I learned to drive.
I graduated high school in an East Canadian town where I had lived for one year. I was sixteen and had gotten a lear

My Pioneer Days
While growing up, two years was the longest I lived anywhere, and the first time that happened was when we moved to Thompson, Manitoba, just short of the tundra line and marked by a subarctic climate. Brrrrr!
We arrived by train, right after Christmas. I

Regarding our recent conversations about using Google Maps/Street View on our blogs. I asked Google Maps for permission to use a screenshot from Street View in a post on Persona Paper and their reply was in the negative. Here is an excerpt from the email I received from them: '' We have reviewed your request to reproduce Google Maps Street View imagery on your blog. Unfortunately, we cannot approve your request. We typically do not allow third party use of our logo or brand features.'' So there it is in writing - we can't use screenshots of Google Maps/Street View in a blog post!
bestwriter I don't really understand your suggestion below, but I'm glad you enjoyed keeping up with my comments!
Just a suggestion. When you want to comment on others' profiles they should go on their profiles and not yours.
I had a marathon session responding to all your comments on my posts at one go!! I liked it!!!
&maxine NP ~ I was enjoying the thread of the story and then something seemed skipped! Thanks for adding it back!
