Installing Old Games That Utilize Microsoft Direct X

I just learned something that may be useful to some who enjoy installing and playing old games, or whose kids or grand kids enjoy playing old games. Looking for something new for my grand kids, I recalled an old game my son played called Planet Blupi. I

I Was a Mad Scientist with a Home Lab. What Could Go Wrong?

As a young fellow, I had a leaning toward science, fostered in me by the Bell Lab Science series of movies. In fact, they are still accessible online. And for the most part they are still considered accurate! Well, my first inclination is not what I wound

Charging Extra for Credit Card Use - Is It a Wise Move?

In the county where I live, some smaller businesses are charging extra if you use your credit card. It is probably because it rankles the mind of such businesses that on each credit card purchase the bank is cleaning up. And I understand that. Of course th

Sick and Tired of Greedy Commercialism Trying to Steal Your Every Last Penny?

It's a fact of life that in this world, one must earn a living, being paid, almost always, in the form of a common medium of exchange -- money. It is also true this has been the case for seemingly endless generations. But perhaps it can be said as never b

Sometimes One Thing Leads to Another

I have a friend who decided to work on a tree with the goal of improving it, when he fell. He needed medical attention! During the process of checking him out, they discovered a spot on his lung. He was treated for cancer very early, as a result. Talk abou

My Best-Ever Senior Moment

Well thanks to a benign tumor on my pituitary gland (located in the center of the head), I experience some damage (called a 6th optic nerve palsy) to my vision - I see somewhat double. It got considerably worse a few months ago, so I scheduled an appointm

Bugs and Killing with Kindness

Well, I view life as precious. I absolutely refuse to run over a snake in the road, because I was not the source of its life. It is as much entitled to live as I am! But I do have my limits. I cannot allow total pests to live inside my house, or endanger m

Life and Its Meaning

The Bible book of Job, found in the so-called Old Testament, reads at Job 14:1, 2, “Man, born of woman, Is short-lived and filled with trouble. He comes up like a blossom and then withers away; He flees like a shadow and disappears." How well

My Friend Who Burned to Death

Well, I make it a point to be friendly toward people of all walks of life. I especially feel for those less fortunate, including those some would call mentally challenged, or, perhaps a better term might be mentally misaligned. A man I once met, in his la

I 'Bout Had a Heart Attack

Ah, my wife, my wife! Well, last night I was pretty well zapped and looking forward to a good night's sleep. So I prepare myself and get ready for 40 winks. I ought to tell you we have a large, very furry, buff-colored cat we call "Lord Buffington". Well

Good day to you

I agree. I almost feel like the last man standing. I will begin fresh at HubPages and just a little bit at myLot. Meantime I will be available via email and will be reading more of your articles at Querky Science and Decoded Science. Maybe one day a new site will exist that pays and that provides some level of good writers. myLot is not a serious writing site but I find it comforting to be able to stay in contact with some former writers of Bubblews. I will never stop writing. It's always been my nature.

There should be some new type of format I agree. And if things keep going like they are I am not very encouraged I have to admit. I am glad you have always been supportive of me Vincent. You led me out of Yahoo! C N and into the land of bubbles. Things were going well for a while until the big bad Panda 4.0 algorythm. As of October 1, 2015 Google unrolled the latest update of Panda to version 4.2 and that was half a year ago.http://searchengineland.com/google-panda-4-2-is-still-rolling-out-232095

I can't remove a former comment I made. But in any case I appreciate you for following me. It means a lot to me.

I have got a Hubpage account, so I guess I'd better get busy using that! I keep an eye on your 'Quirky Science' pages.
