Vegetable Soup Not for Vegetarians

I was raised "up North". When I was 33, I moved to Virginia. I brought my mom's vegetable soup recipe with me. It may be she obtained her recipe for vegetable soup from her mother, my grandmother. If so, I would not be surprised to learn she had tweaked it

Do You Like Old Westerns? Try Stagecoach West (Free)

I never watch television. It's not because I think I'm *too good* to stoop to "public" entertainment. My nose hasn't got my finger under it, tilting my head upward, no! It's because most programming these days is either moral trash, or mental garbage. Sou

Those Words: It was his own fault!

I'm guilty. You're very probably guilty. Yes, likely we're all guilty. We're guilty of using the expression, "But it was his own fault!" I knew a couple of young boys -twins- to whom I was never close. They were foolish boys, sons of a woman whom I had me

What Is Needed in Old Age?

We're conceived, born, and raised. Then we leave the nest, mature, grow old, and inevitably die. In song, the times of our lives have been likened to seasons, months of the year. There is a quality that is needed to face those autumn years. The one song,

Is Facebook Playing Fair?

I have enjoyed my Facebook experience, possibly because I use caution in using it. It has not failed me in any respect, until yesterday. I posted a PersonaPaper article which featured a tick photo from Pixabay. I posted the teaser on my Facebook site. It

I Join the Ranks of VICTIM

Well yesterday was a landmark day for me. A landmark in disgust! I've never been so grossed out. I'm old, I have a variety of interests. Most of these are online. I sit on my keister. A lot. Well, I was absorbed in something, completely absorbed. I finis

Out of the Mouth of Babes - My Four Year Old Standup Comedian

My wife and I, up in years, are raising our three grandchildren. The youngest, just four, has a smathering of autism. Although he's quite bright, his thinking at times surprises us. Never more so than the other day. The older two grandchildren were carryi

Why Don't They Have Tick Drops for People?

A close friend brought up such a marvelous idea that was so simple a concept, what was ingenious, became as well, ingenuous. We purchase tick and flea repellent drops from the veterinarian, no? Why don't people doctors, or rather, why don't those industrie

What in the Dickens is a Caucasian, Anyway?

Anthropologist Johann Friedrich Blumenbach [1752-1840] erroneously postulated, about the turn of the 19th century, the origin of the “white race" as being from the Caucasus mountain region. Hence, the term Caucasian. In the U.S. one of the most commo

A Glimpse Into Life in Harris and Lewis

I was delighted, simply delighted, to watch a video concerning the building of a new building for worship on the Isle of Harris and Lewis, off the mainland of Scotland. I have to say that watching the video of the new building, and the people who inhabit i

If you used to write at Persona Paper and have left, do you feel the occasional urge to stop back and see what gives now? Why not pen a piece while you're here? It's not all that hard to do. The articles don't have to be of novel length... Persona Paper presents interesting possibilities...

Good day to you

I agree. I almost feel like the last man standing. I will begin fresh at HubPages and just a little bit at myLot. Meantime I will be available via email and will be reading more of your articles at Querky Science and Decoded Science. Maybe one day a new site will exist that pays and that provides some level of good writers. myLot is not a serious writing site but I find it comforting to be able to stay in contact with some former writers of Bubblews. I will never stop writing. It's always been my nature.

There should be some new type of format I agree. And if things keep going like they are I am not very encouraged I have to admit. I am glad you have always been supportive of me Vincent. You led me out of Yahoo! C N and into the land of bubbles. Things were going well for a while until the big bad Panda 4.0 algorythm. As of October 1, 2015 Google unrolled the latest update of Panda to version 4.2 and that was half a year ago.http://searchengineland.com/google-panda-4-2-is-still-rolling-out-232095

I can't remove a former comment I made. But in any case I appreciate you for following me. It means a lot to me.

I have got a Hubpage account, so I guess I'd better get busy using that! I keep an eye on your 'Quirky Science' pages.
