In What Direction is Science Headed?

During the early to mid 1800s, science was the playground of the rich. And the playground of those who, otherwise, did not need to pursue secular work. Two examples of this were, Sir Humphry Davy, the discoverer of many of the elements of the Periodic T

A Car With No Brakes? What to Do?

I don't know how many shows I've watched... And I've heard of a real-life tale... of how a person has a car whose brakes have failed, and they panic because they can't stop. What do they do? The drive on and on until either they wreck, or somehow somethin

Do You Know Anyone Ruined Through Stock Purchases Made Before the Great Depression?

There's no better tree to "climb" than the family tree. Have you tried it? If you do, and you are the researcher, you will learn how to play detective. You will be surprised at every turn by what you find. To illustrate... In researching mine and some fr

The Water Gushed from the Ceiling

Well I was in the living room. My wife wasn't far away when it happened. The water broke through the ceiling, gushing badly. I was so shocked, so depressed. So, not being the most informed householder, I turned to my wife and asked her if she knew where t

Reliving the War Between the States: Why Only in the South?

Have you ever noticed? Probably you've seen? The reliving or reenacting of a portion of the War of the States, the so-called Civil War. The great war between the North and the South. Some called it the War for Southern Independence. Many people died in tha

Just a Heads Up! Be Wary of Health Cures

A fellow employee with whom I worked closely had a bad "ticker". He was encouraged by medical professionals to accept bypass surgery for his blockage problem. Needless to say, he would have been concerned. A fellow employee, now about 96 years old, advis

Any Unexpected Bird or Animal Where You Live?

We undoubtedly all live in areas where there are bird and animal varieties we may see as often as each day. Here in Virginia, it is not rare to see deer, opossum, bear, fox, skunk, buzzards, even the relatively rare bald eagle. But sometimes, there's the

When You Die, Will There Be an Obituary?

Do I ask an odd question? a question that makes you uncomfortable? I am older. Some might say I am not that old, yet my friends are dying. And I am already older than my parents were when they met their end. Recently, I sought, not one, but two obituarie

How Faddish are You? Do You Use Antibacterial Soap?

People are faddish. People are fickle. No matter how good a product may be, if it isn't new and amusing, people will toss it aside for something new, no matter how untried and possibly non-functional. Or worse. Possibly damaging. Now we live in an age whe

Good day to you

I agree. I almost feel like the last man standing. I will begin fresh at HubPages and just a little bit at myLot. Meantime I will be available via email and will be reading more of your articles at Querky Science and Decoded Science. Maybe one day a new site will exist that pays and that provides some level of good writers. myLot is not a serious writing site but I find it comforting to be able to stay in contact with some former writers of Bubblews. I will never stop writing. It's always been my nature.

There should be some new type of format I agree. And if things keep going like they are I am not very encouraged I have to admit. I am glad you have always been supportive of me Vincent. You led me out of Yahoo! C N and into the land of bubbles. Things were going well for a while until the big bad Panda 4.0 algorythm. As of October 1, 2015 Google unrolled the latest update of Panda to version 4.2 and that was half a year ago.

I can't remove a former comment I made. But in any case I appreciate you for following me. It means a lot to me.

I have got a Hubpage account, so I guess I'd better get busy using that! I keep an eye on your 'Quirky Science' pages.
