Where Has the Time Gone?

I know that a few of you have wondered where I went, and apologies to you for not having kept in touch. I wish I could offer each of you one of my healthy oatmeal cookies. The sweet WWII vet that I sort of look after likes oatmeal, but I never

Another Funny Name for a Another PTW Site

I am sitting here in my tiny getaway out in the Mohave Desert, a place I like to come for the winter holidays. It is dark at night out here and thousands of stars shine in the skies, something we don't see much at "home." But the wind has been

Photos on Persona Paper

I started to post this picture on another PTW site that lately is less forgiving about the size and format of images uploaded there, so since only a small part of this ended up getting posted there and it is not possible to edit pictures once posted, I tho

Most Influential Feline

Hello everyone, this is Poof the Cat and I wanted to tell everyone that Janet Ann's brother sent us a news clip about a famous feline who was named the most influential cat of 2012 by MSNBC. One of the most interesting things about this cat whose rea

He is Taking a Nap

I wanted to put this under the category Breaking News because it doesn't happen every day and this is sometimes the only time that I get to visit my buddies here at Persona Paper. I see there have been some improvements since the last time I wrote an

A Dwarf Sweet Flag

Common names for this semi-aquatic plant are Dwarf Sedge, Japanese Rush, and Japanese Sweet Flag. The genus Acorus includes some species which are entheogens, but if there are any of these compounds in the pictured plant they are so minute that

Watermelon Logs

One way to turn watermelon into finger food is to make wedges and push sticks through the rinds. Another is to take the rinds off and slice the pulp into cubes. Or we can make spheres with a melon baller. My favorite method, however, is t

Cookie Worked for the CIA

The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) now has a campus in Singapore as well as three in the USA. One is in New York, one in San Antonio, Texas, and the other not far from my summer home. It is housed in a wonderful building c

I Bit the Bullet and got Office 365

You might wonder why I am showing a picture of my dinner in a post about Office 365, but for some bizarre reason the Microsoft suite reminds me of food. It makes me think of a smorgasbord. I hope they don't get us all hooked and then yank up th

A Vinyl Coat Hanger

I love vines and this one is a passion fruit. It is not expected to flower and fruit for several years, but I am growing it as part of an experiment. This one is growing in dirt, but I have an identical one growing in water. I will need m

Hi Janet, that sounds weird. I always thought it was Ann. Others have done the same here and there though too. I've not been around here a whole bunch lately since bubblews has been working better, and then I had computer issues which I'm still trying to fix to some degree.

Thanks for the welcome, Barb. I would rather settle in a while before posting anyway. So far I really like the way this site strives for a more literate tone...without being autocratic or stuffy. I won't have any issues with the 30 character rule on comments, as sometimes my comments are longer than people's posts.
