Violence in media, will that affect us?

Violence in medias are a bit more nowadays. Let it be movies, shows or video games..violence is everywhere! Even the newspapers are filled with news of violence like war, abuse, terrorism, god knows what else! When I watch an action movie with my daughter she will get uncomfortable, even though she can't tell that in words she express it with her actions and behaviors. I think movies or games with violence always have a negative impact on our behavior. Does this violence in media affect our kid's behaviors and emotions? What do you think?

Most folks don't want to admit they're impacted by our media. It's because they're addicted to the lights and sounds and it's just too much work to think of what they're doing.

i think it's not the violence our kids witness, but the messages they receive about it. When children see their elders responding to violence (including poverty) with compassion, they will learn to care for others and to expect caring from those around them. But if they see apathy, or if they witness their elders celebrating the downfall of another human being, they think violence is acceptable.

I am impacted by these violence I saw on tv and when my kids were small they listened to my explanation of the hows and whys and they grew up with compassion too.
