Hello all, I don't think I've ever read anything very explicit about this from the policy side of the site, but I was curious about the community aspect of it. How is it generally perceived that a post here on Persona Paper be a synopsis or jumping-off point for a link to another site, or to drop a link naturally in one's prose as they are writing their PP prose? (I am also now realizing that I made this a poll instead of an open-ended article for fun and wrote the poll questions first and now see that they don't contribute to satisfying the character count requirement, ergo this parenthetical)

As far as I understand, you can include a link to another page in order to direct the person to more information BUT that link must NOT be an affiliate link.

Does that include only things like affiliate marketing (say an Amazon link) or is it broad enough that it also includes any other revenue-sharing websites as well?
And is this a "policy" or "community" -based rule?

As far as I know, that is policy. You must NOT use an Amazon affiliate link, as the site gains its own income from such links. For anything more detailed, you need to contact the site owners, elitecodex and maelou or you could join the PP Facebook page and ask there.

As I understand it, you cannot link to any other revenue-sharing sites or affiliate sites. Linking to other articles here in PP, I think, is acceptable. Kasman may also have some information, as would elitecodex and MaeLou (site administrators), as MegL has mentioned.

Jeramey - this quote is from the FAQs - You may include links in your articles, so long as they are not referral/affiliate links or link to anything that violates the rules and Acceptable Use Policy.

I don't see any poll options, just the introduction. External links are fine as long as they are not affiliate links--I've linked to my blog articles and to other websites, such as nanwrimo.org in my recent article about NaNoWriMo.
