How much do Assistant Managers make?
I am soon interviewing for our Assistant Manager position at my store and was curious as to what I should say if they ask how much I expect to make/ask for per hour. I work in Indiana and have been with the company for 4 years (a brief 9 month break in the second year when I went away to college for my first year and my mom didn't want me working while I was a freshman). I know it's kind of a personal matter, but based on this information how much should be expected for an Assistant Manager position with the background that I have? I was originally thinking maybe $13 but looking around it seems lower than the median, but I don't want to ask for too much in fear of not being offered the job because of that.

No idea about that at all. I think you can take your current salary and add a 15% to it. That is more likely to be the salary of an AM.

I might suggest that you go to salary.com or bls.gov and do a little research before you go on your interview. Those two sites may be able to help you.
