What do you do first?

Your room is full of junk. There are upturned chairs, clothes on the legs of the upturned chairs, boxes lying all around, files and papers scattered on the floor, under the bed and your shelves are full of unsorted clothes and sheets, not to mention unused bags and more books. What to do first? If you begin picking up the clothes, you get the urge to wash them. If you pick up the books you want to read them and sort them out. If you remove the chair you have to get rid of lots clothes and books and boxes containing odds and ends. Actually I am looking for some help here... a few pointers if you will.

Remove the chair and put the boxes away first.

You have a great sense of humour here. I voted to deal with the clothes first. I find, if I do that the other becomes a lot easier emoticon

Haha. I would tackle clothes first too. I know from experience, there is no way to get rid of clutter unless you get rid of clutter properly in an organized manner otherwise it keeps coming back to haunt you. Attack is the best form of defense.

A different kind of poll you have there. I bet there will be no one who will choose setting the house on fire! LOL

It will make me headache when seeing so many chores to do.

Lol! Throw them all out of the window! Just kidding hahahahaha.... Get all the clothes first and turned the chairs, then while the washing machine is moving, try to sort the books and boxes on the floor. That's what I always do, multi task is something I always do when I was left at home, then after all of that go to my room, and sleep or open my laptop, or sometimes, read the bible, or eat, or just sleep because I feel so tired but happy the next day.

I think you need FlyLady at She gives you small (15 minute) challenges each day that will help

Voting for the bed option.

Well first I'm gonna wonder how my chairs got upturned lol. And then I'm gonna laugh at the "set the house on fire" option on the poll lol.
Then I don't know which I'd pick up first. I'd have to stare at it and see which one drives me crazy first.

When I enter the room, I first pick up the thing that I see in front of me then, clean up all my way up. Like a vacuum cleaner

Never face such situation before, so cannot really decide.

tidy the biggest things first - that gives you more space to sort through everything else - I'm always terribly untidy myself
