Is Joining O-Desk A Good Move?
Inspired by a post and a bit of friendly advice by fellow Persona Paper user Melody23 i have signed up for a freelancing site called 'O-desk'.
I find the site (and the whole idea of it a little intimidating, but so far I have been slowly building up my profile. I may need a better pic than I'm using, but it is OK I suppose, and I have been doing a lot of their skills tests and have been a little amazed at how well I have done on some of their testing. Once I feel I have completed enough tests and figured out how I want to approach things I will start hunting some contracts and see where it goes from there.
Do you all think this is a good idea? Oh and no I would not completely leave Persona Paper!

I don't even have a picture on mine, but I did do half a dozen or so of their tests before I started looking for work some jobs look for freelancers who have scored above a certain amount on those tests so its a good idea to do the basic ones like spelling, grammar etc at least.

DDS1 Well, I don't think O-Desk (or Fiverr or Elance) is for everyone. For people like Melody23 it can be a good fit, but for me is not. Good luck and hope you get very good customers and make some money out of this venture

I have heard some not so good things about oDesk, but that does not mean that it will not work for you.

I have done my share of contract writing but I am at the point where I want my name on what I write and I don't care about the money. But it is a good way to make money.

I have never joined it, but it's a well-known website and I hear that some people do find work on there, so it may be worth trying. :)

The income will definitely be better, but you may meet very demanding employer.
