What colour is your car?

As a young adult I remember the streets being full of cars in a wide assortment of bright colours, but nowadays it seems that most of the cars on the road are white, silver, gold or black, though there are still quite a lot of red cars on the road - mine included. But generally most of the cars look very much the same. I saw somebody driving a pink car recently, and had to compliment her on her choice. A part of me wished that car was mine, but I've got no plans for buying a new car any time soon, so for now I'm happy with my red car. At least it stands out in a crowd.

My car is black. I have noticed more cars are available in pastel colours these days I might go for one of those for my next car, the one I have is a wee run around really and I am considering getting a new car either at the end of this year when I finish university or some time next year depending on the finances.

SIlver, tho once we finally get a replacement for our wrecked car I am painting the van zebra stripped LOL!

I have a Silver ford fiesta I would rather a different colour but we had to go with what was available, I want to have a blue car next time emoticon

There is a little smart car that drives round our area that is covered in astro turf!!

My husband wanted us to have a car that would be easy to see at dusk or in poor light. His car is gray because he couldn't special order a used car. All our Volvos have been white.

Pastel colours sound nice. I don't think there are too many of them around here.

Gina145 wrote on January 15, 2015, 1:36 PM

That sounds like fun.

Gina145 This is a fun poll. My car is green (technically Jade), would like to have a Red Car though.

Gina145 wrote on January 15, 2015, 1:38 PM

I know what that's like. My first car was also red and when I got my current one, I wanted gold, but couldn't get one. Now I'm glad I stuck with red.

Gina145 wrote on January 15, 2015, 1:38 PM

Wow, I'd love to see that.

Gina145 wrote on January 15, 2015, 1:40 PM

Mine was second hand too. I was lucky that there was a red one available because I like a conspicuous car, especially when it rains.

Gina145 wrote on January 15, 2015, 1:41 PM

There's nothing wrong with green. Jade sounds really nice and is a colour I'd consider if I was changing mine.

JeanC wrote on January 15, 2015, 1:42 PM

It will be. I painted our little fishing boat orange and black tiger stripes :D

nbaquero wrote on January 15, 2015, 2:01 PM

Thanks Gina145 I know, just saying red is like every sports car color, except for the Silver Arrows of F1 emoticon :winking:

It's white, although right now it is super super dirty, so I will say it's grey/brown with all the dirt that is on it haha

My car is black but if I changed my car I would want pink, I do like my black car though.

Our car is white because it is easiest to keep clean around here. Most of the mud on the roads is light coloured and when any does mark the car it is more of an incentive to have the car cleaned.

Gina145 wrote on January 15, 2015, 4:20 PM

That's one of the problems with white cars. Every speck of dirk shows. They're still extremely popular though and they're supposed to be cooler in hot weather.

Gina145 wrote on January 15, 2015, 4:21 PM

I'd love a pink car, but they only seem to available as special orders and I wouldn't like to buy one unless I'd seen what it's going to look like first.

Gina145 wrote on January 15, 2015, 4:27 PM

Thankfully I don't have to worry about mud most of the time, though dust is a problem. I've been lucky lately because the last time my car was washed the guy who did it used something that prevents the dust from sticking so badly. I wish there was a way to keep it that way forever.

My car is an old red Chevrolet. I am looking to exchange it to a different car, however I still want to keep it red, just because it's my favorite color for cars.

BarbRad wrote on January 15, 2015, 10:03 PM

My husband believes conspicuous cars, especially red ones, are more likely to be pulled over.

Gina145 wrote on January 16, 2015, 4:13 AM

I've been driving a red car for almost 30 years and I don't think that's really been a problem. Of course that may be different in other countries.

Gina145 wrote on January 16, 2015, 4:14 AM

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who favours red. I've only ever bought two cars and they've both been red.

Ruby3881 wrote on January 16, 2015, 10:17 PM

Our van is grey. It was second hand, so colour was less of an issue than the condition it was in and the dealer's asking price. I think if I had my druthers, I'd probably go for teal or forest green.

Gina145 wrote on January 17, 2015, 4:55 AM

I was also constrained by choice somewhat when I bought my car second-hand, but tried to wait for the colour I wanted. Eventually I couldn't wait so I settled for my second choice. Now I'm glad I didn't get the colour I thought I wanted at the time.

grandma20121 wrote on January 18, 2015, 10:06 AM

My car is also black but my car was given to me, i guess the color does not matter to me as long as it runs well.

Gina145 wrote on January 18, 2015, 10:15 AM

Of course how the car runs is the most important thing. I've never been interested in having a fancy car either.

crowntower wrote on February 25, 2015, 12:22 AM

I do not have a car yet. But if I would have one, I think I have black, gray or blue. Colors that is not light. Or if I have no choice I might pick red -- this color is rampant but I can't think of anything that I will be comfortable to drive with. :D

Firecracker wrote on April 20, 2015, 4:24 AM

I'm not interested in my car standing out in a crowd. lol I love the color that it is. It's a classy looking gray. :)
