Do you dye your hair?

Do you dye your hair? I have not dyed my hair in a very long time because I was pregnant in 2012/2013 and then again in 2014. I know they say that some hair dyes it doesn't matter, but if you have to bleach then that is when it is dangerous, but anyway. I have had my hair every color of the rainbow and my favorite was pink. I had cotton candy pink, but got hot hot pink this time. My natural hair color is brown. I cannot wait to have my hair a different color. I have wanted to do this for a long time. If you dye your hair, do you dye it a natural color or colors like blue, yellow, pink, etc?

I don't dye it very often, when I do I go with a burgundy red. The last dye is almost grown out and I have had a haircut since then, so there isn't much left. I am liking the silver that is coming in and I think instead of dying it I will look at some highlights to help set off what red is left and the silver better.

yeah I would dye my hair at home, it's relaxing.. But when I want a color that I cannot do then I would simply head to the salon

That would be cool. You should post a picture if you do it with the highlights.

I am super nervous to go to a salon again, because last time, I asked them not to cut my hair too short and then, they did and when I asked why, they told me "because it looks better"

I know it is a regular thing for men to dye their hair these days but I never have even though I'm starting to show a bit more salt among the pepper. I have always told God that if he would let me keep my hair I'd let him color it whatever color he wanted. My grandfather on my mother's side passed away with a full head of silver hair. If that is to be my fate, I won't fight it.

Now my wife on the other hand, maybe it would be better if I didn't say anything, but she dyes her hair regularly.

I used to dye my hair different colors when I was a teenager but it's SUCH a pain. I won't do it again except maybe when I go gray. I've always wanted super dark brown wavy hair like my mom has, but I'm too light complected for it.

Last time I went to a salon I asked for "loose waves" and they fried my hair with a poodle perm. I'm still growing it out and it's horrible. I then remembered why I have been cutting my own hair for 5 years.

I need to do my hair again soon as the roots are growing through!! I go for standard shades of blonde though

I like that you said that if he let you keep it, you'd let him have it whatever color! :)

zombiecupcake wrote on January 14, 2015, 7:21 AM

Lol, what color does she dye it?

zombiecupcake wrote on January 14, 2015, 7:23 AM

That's so frustrating when they take creative liberties with your hair. I have been cutting my own hair for eighteen years (wow, I feel old). That incident actually happened when I was ten and was the one that made me do it myself every single time.

Ah, you never know, it could still look good. :) It IS a bit of a pain to dye your hair certain colors, but it's also fun, too.

Ah! The time when it starts to fade always sucks lol. :) The blonde looks good in your picture.

Yes I do. I have naturally mousey brown hair, but I Prefer to be a lighter blonde. I have dyed my hair bright red before but it was too high maintenance, so I changed it back lol

zombiecupcake wrote on January 14, 2015, 6:17 PM

What made you feel that the bright red was too high maintenance?

DWDavisRSL wrote on January 14, 2015, 9:06 PM

Most often a medium brown with auburn highlights. That is very close to her natural hair color, but with more auburn.
