Sad Animal Movies
I am one of those people that love to watch sad animal movies, and I cry my eyes out all the time! I know it's odd that someone who loves animals as much as I do, chooses to voluntarily watch these types of movies! Lol. But sometimes I think you just need to cry
I have seen all of these movies, cried during all of them, and am wondering which one of these is your favorite sad animal movie. Mine is one of the most classic sad animal movies of all time, Old Yellar! But I also think Marley And Me might be a tie, because all of us pet parents can relate to the life and loss of the main characters beloved dog.
And if you choose the "other" option PLEASE share in your comment which sad animal movie is your favorite. I'm always looking for more movies to make me cry! Haha!

Oh my gosh! I can't vote for any of these -- they are just too sad. I could barely watch "Lassie" as a little girl. I cry when I hear "Puff the Magic Dragon." Now for a couple of human tear-jerkers, try "The Notebook," "Beaches," or "Million Dollar Baby."

I don't think I've ever seen Puff the Magic Dragon, if I did I don't remember it. I don't know if I saw Lassie or not either, I know there are a lot of Lassie movies - which one is the really sad one you're referencing?

No, just the song Puff the Magic Dragon makes me cry. I am old enough to have watched the Lassie TV series, and even though Lassie always pulled through, each one was heart-wrenching for me.

Oooh okay. The melody of Puff The Magic Dragon is a sad one - but I can't say that the song makes me sad, probably because I have no real connection to the story! I debated whether or not to add "I Am Legend" on this list due to Samantha's death (I totally cried lol) but because the movie itself isn't really an animal movie I decided not to.

Hey! Nice to see you over here. Eight below was a great movie. I always loved wolves and huskies and it was a great story. It was sad but at least it had a happy ending. My favorite animal movies are Homeward Bound and Shiloh.

I LOVE Homeward Bound - but I didn't think it would fit in well on this list considering all the animals live :) Lol. Eight Below was great. I own all of these movies (Except Hackicho).
