Best YA Book to Movie Adaptation

So i love reading but it is a big time commitment. I read painfully slow, lol, so a book takes me many days to finish. Ive noticed however that a lot of books are being turned into movies. I like this because i think its a good introduction to the story...in most cases and the time commitment is cut to like 2 hours. Its sometimes hard to get the movie right though. There are so many things to consider like the actors and setting the filmmakers choose. One thing I notice also, is that they cut the story down a bunch to fit in the 2 hour frame. So a lot of the story is missing. Some movies are done really good though, so tell me, Which is your favorite?

I'll fully admit Harry Potter is the only one I've really seen of these but out of a lot of the people I know it's been one of the more satisfying ones. Though I have heard a lot of good things about The Fault In Our Stars.

I am in the middle of reading 12 years a slave by Solomon Northup, which is turning out to be pretty good. I must admit though, I do prefer the movie.

Not sure whether it was a movie or a book first to be honest emoticon

The only movies that I ever read the books to were Harry Potter, and I didn't even read the last book. So it's hard for me to sat which one is the best book to movie option...maybe I'll just go with the movies that I enjoy the most? And that would be under the other option because I would have to go with Lord of The Rings. But I do really enjoy the Harry Potter movies.

Ahh yeah. Lord of the Rings were pretty good. I really like Legolas . :)

My goodness I haven't read any of the above so I can't comment on the adaptation.

Hehe. We just went to see the latest Hobbit movie a few weeks ago, they are turning out to be quite interesting to. I like movies that are completely different than normal life.

Hehe. I try to make an effort to see all the book to movies conversions...i dont always end up reading the books though. Like the Hunger Games...the beginning was kind of boring...and she kept talking about hunting animals.... I dont like hunting, so i stopped reading. The movies dont focus on it as much, thankfully.

Long ago "Gone With The Wind" was a near-perfect book adaptation...

AND "Lord of the Rings" would have been perfect to me had they included the parts with Tom Bombadil. I really missed him in "The Hobbit" series, too. I read both series 6-7 times, lol!
