Best Stephen King Novel

I love to read, and one of my favorite authors is Stephen King. I love reading horror books, and he is one of the best horror novelists out there. I plan on branching out, and have done some research into the best horror novels of all time, but right now I still have plenty of King books to get through (although there are some I refuse to read). I just can not bring myself to read "It" (attempted to watch it on tv, had to turn it off) and a few others. A couple of my top King books are Rose Madder and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Now I'm curious to see how his novels will match up here. If you choose "other" PLEASE put your choice in your comment! :) If you have never read a Stephen King book, let me know, I would love to recommend a few!

I love his books also, I also enjoy Dean Koontz and Robin Cook. Check them out you might like them too.

It is one of my favorite books of all time. (Don't watch the tv movie, it sucks.) I like his Dark Tower series, The Stand, mostly his early stuff.

Hmmm, I don't know how the polls work, like do you get credit if someone votes? Because the only book I have read (and will ever read, because I have seen a few of his movies) is his writing book called "On Writing" and that was a very good book. Of course you were asking about his genre, which I don't read, but I had to have my say in this..lol

I have never read any of his books. I generally don't like horror. I like the TV show Haven for some reason and I think that is Stephen King.

I like Dean Koontz too! I love The Watchers, first and favorite Koontz book. I don't think I have ever read a Robin Cook, but will check him out! Thanks!

Lol! So you must be the 1 vote for "other." :D I think polls work just like the posts, since you have to still have the same amount of a characters (at least I think you do). I think you still just earn off the views, but they're still fun! :)

I did here that it is based on one of his novels, but I'm not sure if the entire show and every episode is actually from King.

I just can't get myself to read It! Lol. I don't really have a fear of clowns...and I'd like to keep it that way! Haha. But I heard that at the end he's actually a giant spider from space or something weird like that? Lol

I checked you also earn if someone votes, so it is a good thing you have "other" there.

I have read Carrie, and I started reading It, but I never finished the book. I prefer Stephen King's short stories especially the old ones.

Began1988 wrote on January 7, 2015, 4:00 PM

With his short story collections I always enjoy some of the stories, and then dislike others. Except for his novel Less Dark No Stars, I didn't like ANY of those stories! Lol. Which option did you vote for?

Porcospino wrote on January 7, 2015, 4:20 PM

I chose other. The last collection of short stories that I read was "Just after sunset" and I didn't really like any of those stories, but I enjoyed many of the old stories from "Night shift".

You get paid per vote too? nice! I'll be making more polls now! Just have to come up with interesting ones! Lol

Began1988 wrote on January 7, 2015, 4:31 PM

I didn't really like Just After Sunset either. I forget what collection it was in but I really liked the short story "Gingerbread Girl." Which book is your favorite King, what's your "other" choice? :P

Porcospino wrote on January 7, 2015, 4:45 PM

My favourite novel is "The green mile". I read about the movie on the internet. Someone recommended it, and the description sounded interesting so I decided to watch it. I liked it and I decided to read the book as well.

Janey1966 wrote on January 7, 2015, 6:47 PM

The Watchers is one of my favourite books of all time, it was brilliant from start to finish.

Began1988 wrote on January 7, 2015, 8:38 PM

Yeah very entertaining. But the movie was a HUGE disappointment! Have you seen it? I wish they would redo it and stick much closer to the book...and pick better actors and special effects! Lol

Began1988 wrote on January 7, 2015, 8:39 PM

I'm not sure I'll ever get around to reading that one. I watched the movie and thought it was good (I love Tom Hanks) but after seeing the movie I really have no desire to read the book.

Carmelanirel wrote on January 8, 2015, 10:08 AM

Just don't forget to add "other" that way if someone can't use your options, this one will do.
