What's your attitude to Facebook?

Why does every marketer assume that everyone has Facebook these days? There are still people (like me) who don't WANT to have a Facebook account because they don't WANT half the world drama llamaing at them every single day. Personally, I also object to the oversharing that is a part of signing up for the service. I don't want to share my real name, my location, my age, my photograph nor a phone number. Marketing should be inclusive to all platforms, not exclusive to one. I should be able to access a webpage and sign up for free samples or promotional coupons, without having to have an account with a secondary social media site. Facebook users should have access to the same offers and promotions from within their accounts, seeing as some people spend a lot of time on the site. Twitter, RebelMouse, Pinterest, Google and Reddit users should have the same chances. So, what's your view?

I use facebook to keep in touch with family and friends and to play games like farmville. I guess you could say I am addicted to facebook, LOL.

I have Facebook and many of my family members are on there. Most, I don't see often at all so it is nice to connect now and then and see what they are doing. I slimmed down my friend's list to people who I actually know or who I have worked with online and like as people as well as writers and I have a nice group. I am not on as much now because I am busier and I just joined Tsu and hope my good buddies will come there with me and we can make money doing the same things we do at Facebook.

As others have said, Facebook is a good place for me to keep up with family and friends I don't normally see or talk to on a frequent basis. I also have a few pet causes that I follow there. As for being a contributor on Facebook -- not often at all.

I can't be bothered with it. I find it throws up all sorts of disputes and disagreements I'd rather not be party to. I am on Google+ - much more grown-up.

I wouldn't say I live on it, but I'm on frequently. It's the best way to stay in touch with people and organize events. I play some games, too!

This was fun! Thank you. Facebook is really the last place a productive person needs to be but, it's also where all of he important discussions are going on.

I have a Facebook account and use it to sign up for promotions, and get instantly notified about sales and promotions from my favorite brands. Otherwise, I might never even use it.

I have restricted my activity on FB with a selected few. I do not accept friends requests.

I don't have a Facebook account but there were numerous times in the past that I've thought of creating one. Good thing I got to my senses before I did. LOL!
