The Greatest Era For Rock Music

I think everyone is partial for the music that was popular when they were a young adult. Now that the rose-tinted glasses are off, we can fairly answer the big question. What era was the greatest decade for rock music? The 60's Hippy Blues and Psychedelica The 70's Freedom Rock, Loud Guitars and Swagger The 80's Glam, MTV and Arena Rock The 90's Grunge and Alternative Nation The 00's The Napster "Free" Music Years This is my first poll so excuse any mistakes or problems. Feel free to give me any tips or tricks that could help!

This did not format like I thought. Sorry everything is smooshed together!

The 70s will always be the best era for rock.

I voted for the Sixties, but I am also a fan of some of the 80's groups mentioned by Scorpie . I'm also a big fan of Pearl Jam.

I'm actually "too young" to vote for the 70s, but I still have to give it up for the likes of Bowie, Queen, Led Zeppelin et al. I don't mind giving props to those that came before!

70's are winning :) The Beatles and The Stones alone suffice for the win.

But my favourite band is Dire Straits. And if I move on the time line to present day then come Metallica, Foo Fighters and Green day.

Mid 70's and all through the 80's. And then it all got awful. :) I still listen to the old stuff and shun new "pop" and "rock" because it's not authentic in my opinion.

I voted for the 70s, but it's really the late 60s on through the 70s and early 80s. To those already mentioned add The Who, Jethro Tull, Jefferson Airplane, Fleetwood Mac , Hendrix, The Doors - and if we can include folk rock, Simon and Garfunkel.

Polls always come out as a single paragraph. Sometimes there are also issues with missing non-alphanumeric characters, like slashes or quotation marks.

Sorry, I go for the 50's.
