Anyone who notice the scandalous icon when you try to submit a new Bubblews article.

I have a nagging feeling that bubblews is hacked by someone who is bitter against the site. The Pixabay Icon I am seeing right now is a Male and female genitalia doing something related to making babies. We all know that site is a family friendly site like Persona Paper so I don't think that is intentional from the admins. I think it could be a hacker, Most likely a spammer who is mad for being banned or a member who wanted revenge after not getting a payment.

I don't know if they will fix this thing right a way but my gut tells me that this will offend the conservative members of the site. Some people may not notice it because the icon is small in some browsers it is very recognizable.

I just went to see what you were talking about and did not see it at all. I did not submit an article though. What screen is it on?

you will only see it if you click the button used for submitting article a new article. You know the place where you will choose pictures from pixabay.

I will not see it now then. I am not posting on Bubblews until things get worked out!

It happened just this afternoon. Its been hours and I am still seeing it.

Randajad_The_Traveller wrote on August 6, 2014, 2:13 PM

the porn picture replaced the pixabay icon. Its really distracting making an article while seeing that.

I just went over there and submitted a post, and I used a pixabay photo, and looked for what you were saying, but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

Not seen that one, but I have had so many popups I'm now running adblocker AND manual enabling of Flash sites in an effort to stop anything from downloading itself that I don't want. I have only JUST rebuilt this computer, after all.

When did that happen? I haven't seen anything like that at all but then again, I only use the header colors for my articles now since it's less of a hassle.

FreyaYuki wrote on August 6, 2014, 3:02 PM

Sorry to hear that. I'm surprised though since I haven't experienced seeing any popups on that site. It's scary to think of the possibility that something will just automatically start downloading without your permission and cause problems to your PC; hope the site takes care of that or the users who are affected will certainly not be pleased.

Try to find the powered by pixabay icon, Thats where you will see it. Its at the bottom of the "select a cover area"

Randajad_The_Traveller wrote on August 6, 2014, 3:27 PM

Upper left corner of the pixabay box

I report it every time it happens. elitecodex knows that, as I did the same when I had an issue here too. If users don't report rogue downloads and spammers, how is a sitemaster supposed to deal with it. after all? It could be different browsers or different versions too. Some malware targets certain versions of software, after all. I am running the most up to date versions here, though, which makes the rogue popups even more disconcerting.

I clicked on the "Write" button just now to see, as i don't have anything ready to post. No sign of anything untoward. The Pixabay icon is as always. Do you think they fixed it already?

aw heck. I missed it. Maybe these are the folks who try to redirect me when I go there.
