More Insects!

The insect in the first photo is some type of moth I believe. I noticed it when letting the dog in last night. His coloring is what caught my eye. He was less than half an inch in size. Here is another shot of him.

Don't you love his colors and texture. He almost looks like a rug or tapestry.

This was another insect that came in with the dog. :) This one isn't as pretty but he was interesting.

Here is a longer shot so you can see how long his "whiskers" were. I know that's not what those are but I don't know the technical term. I like all the segments in this fellow.

Well, there you have my newest set of insects. Hope y'all liked the pics.

The moth is cool. They can scare me when flitting around at first, but once I learn it is just a moth, then it might be irritating, but is usually entertaining.

I like the moth for the interesting shape and color. The other thing I think is a stink bug.

I'm glad you like it. I love all the different types of moths.

It could be a stink bug. If so, I'm glad it didn't get me stinky. :)

I think you have to smash them for that. Don't, LOLz.

Beautiful. Insects have antennae (this is the plural) An antenna is a "feeler".

I knew that...lol. I just couldn't remember it. Thanks.

I never can identify moths. I rarely see them anymore. Great photos!

I don't think it is a stinkbug as they have a flatter shield shape body unless your stinkbugs are different to ours...From the photo, the best match I could find is a 'Spined Oak Borer'...No luck with the moth as they have a tendency to look completely different with their wings extended..

I really have no idea what it is. I just thought it was cool and photo worthy.

I like the colors and textures of these insects; It's funny how people can spend years in design school learning how to design fabrics and come up with different textures and colors and they are right before us in natural world.

So true. I think the moth would make a great fabric for something.
