A Newbie' has problems--have patience with me.

When I came here July 26 (Was it only 6 days ago?) I just dived in--heck who reads a manual before? I came across stumbling blocks like no spell check when writing posts and being a horrendous speller I need one so I had to turn to Word and then copy and paste.
I will say from day one the staff (which I still have to figure out who owns this site and who does what--yes I know it is on one of the pages) has answered my questions instead of saying “You idiot! Read the manual and you will find most of the answers to your questions!” Thanks to all who have helped this newbie!
Without going into detail I write for 5 sites a day each one having to be an original post (If whoever checks the originality of posts just email me and I will send you the sites) and now Personapaper and I think I may have taken on one too much and, for what it is worth, it will definitely be one of the other ones IF I can’t handle it all.
From day one I made a commitment to post every day at each site and in most cases I have.
Okay now let’s finally get to my problem (I have a tendency to talk/write too much which I am talking about in my other post) which is that I respect everyone who takes the time to welcome me and/or to leave a comment on one of my posts. Granted I start off with a series you will not find in any other social site (except gay ones) and I haven’t read the response to the first 3 posts on the subject but as I write this I have 130 notifications! When someone takes the time to respond to my work I feel an obligation to respond to them whether they agree with me or not.
I will, without a doubt, get around to answering all the notifications and I certainly don’t want people to stop making comments on what I have to say, so please hang in there and know I will get back to you. My present plan is to do just that this weekend.
To the owners, moderators and/or those here to help newbies like me I want to say thank you and I will raed the ‘manual’.
PS Can you reposition that "Mom IQ" ad--argh!!!!

Use firefox, it has a built-in spell check.

That's what I was going to say. I'm using Firefox and it does spell checking for me, even in comments. Good luck with the site.

HAR! I beat you to it.

Right now, it's just elitecodex and I running the place. We have no problems answering any questions you have.

Yep, you're just too fast for me. I'm slow in the mornings.

For the record, the site was started by ashley and is now run by husband and wife team, MaeLou (Heather) and elitecodex (Will.) Heather handles a lot of the day to day running, rules enforcement, questions, and such. Will does the programming and is also very active in updating and seeking feedback from the community here at Persona Paper.
If you are writing for so many sites, I would highly recommend you use a word processor to write and edit your content. It's best to keep backups anyway, and a word processor like LibreOffice is compatible with copying and pasting directly into the submit form (I don't know if Word can do this, as it often adds extra code that causes issues.) On Persona Paper all my formatting and links are preserved when I paste into the submit form :)

It's best to just write your article elsewhere (such as in a word processor like Microsoft Word) so that you can spell check and proofread it. Aside from that, you'll also be able to have a backup copy of your article so, in case anything happens or if the submit doesn't go through, you still have a copy of your article and you won't end up losing what you've taken the time to write.

That's what I use but I haven't seen it when writing a post!

BUt, But, But...I just wrote a post and was going to post it and saw a few missipelled words but firefox doesn't seem to highlight them or am I not knowing something? I am not a Internet pro! LOL

Thank you so much MaeLou--I really appreciate your quick responses.

So far Word is working with writing it there and then C&P it to here--I have copies of over the 8,000 blogs I have written with many being movie and restaurant reviews which I would like to put up here but it would be considered 'copying' :O)

Hi Fedo What do you mean 'here'?
AngelSharum wrote on August 2, 2014, 5:47 PM
Go to Tools at the top of the page on Firefox, then Options, then Advanced and click the box beside the one that says to check spelling.

I am feeling like a real slacker at the moment -- you write on five different sites, now six with PersonaPaper, each and every day? I am dizzy thinking about how in the world you keep up with that.
GreatMartin wrote on August 2, 2014, 11:25 PM
Just checked it and the spell checking is checked but...
GreatMartin wrote on August 2, 2014, 11:28 PM
That's what I do! :O)
Thanks for responding.

I don't--I am always behind LOL I just wish I could void a 'notification' after I respond--I can never find out where I left off yesterday!!

I have no idea then, sorry.
