What am I doing wrong??

It happpened again--I wrote a 500+ word article part 2 of my being gay talking about 'throwing it in your face'--everything was fine and then I got to the captcha--hit it--got a page that I was wrong--there was nothing--NOTHING--I could see that would send me back to my post so I could try to post it again.

I did what I thought was the normal thing to do--went back a space and got this page and 'lost' it somewhere--I see up above it says " (Article saved at July 29, 2014, 11:01:53 AM)"-- does that mean my part 2 article is still hovering around here?

Now the same thing happened yesterday and I was told to look for a blue button--there wan't anything blue on that 'you were wrong captcha' page. I do realize that I need to write my post first on Word so if this happens again I won't have 'lost' it.

In any case do you think I might find it somewhere here since personapaper does save as we write post? And what should I do the next time Captcha doesn't work?

Thanks all

Go to your New Article page, scroll to the bottom and press Restore Cache. See if that works.

Dear if it happens again just go back one page and wait to the blue button to pop up (Restore Cache) then your article will appear again, emoticon

There seems to be a problem with this in the last few days. I hope it doesn't happen again for you.

elitecodex another person is having trouble with the Captch and Restore Cache features. Not sure what's going on but thought I'd bring this article to your attention.

I'm sure he'll be able to help with the problem. You should check his profile page out. He is one of the owners and he wrote a post about this problem yesterday.

The restore cache will ONLY bring up the last thing you wrote, once you put something new in there, it overwrites it.

So, you are saying that the captcha isnt showing up at all, or are you just getting it "wrong?" Captcha's time out, so if it took you awhile to write the article, then hitting the little refresh button on the captcha would take away the timeout issue on the captcha. If it isn't showing up at all, then it's definitely something that elitecodex is better at answering.

And when you hit back, there is no "restore cache" button at the bottom of the article where you would hit submit or save draft?

Thanks for responding MaeLou--No, I get the captcha and write it just as it is even putting 2 spaces between words when they do which might be the mistake! :O)
Okay I am not too sure as when I get the message that teh captcha is wrong I hit back and get a blank 'write' page---it may be my bad not looking for/scrolling down to see the restore cache which I hav eseen since someone mentioned it. :O)

MaeLou wrote on July 29, 2014, 4:09 PM

that extra space might be causing it. I've always only entered one space in between words.

Are you still having issues? Sorry for the delay, but just now catching up on where people have tagged me :) Let me know if you don't see that blue button. I also wrote up a tutorial on it just incase you missed it.

Thanks for responding--since I decided to write in Word and then copy here it seems I am not havign problems with captcha which is crazy I know but if it happens again I'll look for that blue button!

Your cache can only hold one set of data at a time, Martin. If you have another issues with the captcha, open a new tab and check your profile page for the article, If it did publish, it should show up there. If it didn't, go back to the previous tab and hit the back button. When the "new article" page comes up you can click the "restore cache" button. If you do it before you enter anything new in the cache, it should work emoticon
Also, if you encounter any more issues you should use the contact form to report them. elitecodex (aka Will) has a full time job other than this, but is very fast to respond all the same. I usually hear from him within a few hours if I need tech help.

Yes, it is best to write your articles elsewhere first so you always have a backup copy in case anything goes wrong when you try to submit it. Did you try using the back button when you got an error in posting your article? That should bring you back to the submit page again and your article should be there. The blue button is at the bottom of the submit page. It's beside the "submit" and "save draft" buttons. It says "restore cache".
