I Still Have a Tendency to Like!

So since I found out by MaeLou that the site no longer pays likes. Basically we get paid double for our views, and than some...which = more money than we would get with likes and views. In the end. It's hard to explain, but views are REALLY good to get. What I'm trying to get at here..

Anyways, even though likes no longer matter. I find myself still liking posts when I go to someone's article. It's a habit I guess? Once I click on it, and read. I automatically like..

I think it helps me out with realizing, "Mandy..you read this post already!" by liking it too.

I'm sure they must be others on here that have a habit of liking too. A lot of people pull it off though, and are able to just view that's why there's not many likes on articles. But if you see any on them. They are probably from me...

A habit! What can I say...haha! :D

I use to "like" more of them but now I am "liking" those that are really interesting to me.

AngelSharum wrote on July 28, 2014, 1:18 PM

I still like quite a few of them as well. I tend to hit the like button on ones I don't comment one.

I am new so I didn't know about not getting paid for likes but I'm going to do like you so that I will know that I already viewed the post. That is a great idea!

LoudMan wrote on July 28, 2014, 1:58 PM

Nothing wrong with getting or giving a like here and there. From what I understand, they help with indexing too.

sconstantino wrote on July 28, 2014, 2:05 PM

I'm always hitting the "like" button, too. It's kind of a habit, but I also love it when people like my articles. It gives me a little extra encouragement, even if it's sans earnings.

LeslieAdrienne wrote on July 28, 2014, 2:37 PM

I still like because I really like what I like.... LOL

paigea wrote on July 28, 2014, 2:57 PM

I click like on every article I read just for the reason you mentioned. If I click on it again, I know before I scroll down that I read it before.

Kementari wrote on July 28, 2014, 4:22 PM

I still like a post despite knowing that the other person doesn't get paid for it. Just something about liking it seems to make me reading it seem more genuine to the person. Like, "Yes, I actually like your post and am not reading it just because the title caught my eye" - gives more validation and reference to who actually likes your stuff.

brown-paw wrote on July 28, 2014, 11:02 PM

I just clicked like in one of your posts! It is a habit, you know! haha

Ruby3881 wrote on July 29, 2014, 9:51 PM

I'm a bit automatic with likes at times too, and for that very reason I'm glad we're getting paid double for views and not at all for likes. Yes, sometimes it's good to see that like, because I know I've read the post. But then, I'm sure if we asked elitecodex ever so nicely, he could probably do something so we could see which posts we've already viewed :)

That is a good habit as I think Admin will soon look at those likes that will influence a post getting a place in the 'popular posts'

cm_ang83 wrote on July 30, 2014, 2:43 AM

I am also have this habit. I use to click on like button after i read the article. I feel that i have to click like to show that i already finish something.

nbaquero wrote on July 30, 2014, 6:40 AM

x0MandyLynn0x That is a great idea using likes to mark you've read the post. But as in this case, I liked because I find the content useful and that is a quick way of giving feedback to the the author.

elitecodex wrote on July 31, 2014, 8:18 AM

That is something that is coming, probably when we redo the design of the blogger section that MaeLou spoke of earlier. Just a few more things I need to get ironed out here first then I will be on to that :)

Every body who writes an article wish that the article must be popular, it may gain lot of likes and comments. But people are having different ideas, so they may like the post or not. But we have to accept their verdict.

I usually only like something if I like it . I didn't know about the not getting paid for likes anymore. I have been more active at BrandX lately and just decided this morning to start giving this PP more of a chance.

Tuffy06 wrote on August 18, 2014, 1:49 AM

I do that to especially when I really like the article and left me baffled. :)

Pogonotomy wrote on September 16, 2014, 1:18 PM

I'm still exploring this site, I keep forgetting about the like button :p

AliCanary wrote on October 1, 2014, 7:31 PM

Nothing wrong with Liking posts--it does indeed let you know you read it already. There are a lot more members here, now, so the danger of re-reading the same things is way lower, at this point.

Feisty56 wrote on October 7, 2014, 8:09 PM

If I like a post, I click "Like," not because it does or doesn't earn anything, just because that's the way I roll. : )

scheng1 wrote on December 7, 2014, 1:27 AM

It is better to make a comment if you like any article. You get one point, and the writer gets 2 points.

Candizq wrote on December 12, 2014, 1:51 PM

I am new here and have just posted my first article. Hope I can make some friends and that you are one of them too :)

autumntale wrote on December 27, 2014, 2:46 AM

Hello. You've gone in active for almost have a year. What happened? Liking loads fast here so it's okay to do that.

teamshepherd wrote on January 1, 2015, 10:52 AM

I am not sure yet if we can tell who liked our posts here but for me its like "Hey I was here and I liked it" sort of thing

MelissaE wrote on January 4, 2015, 6:27 PM

Thanks for the tip on likes. I still like to like posts, though. Have a blessed New Year.

Hollyhocks100 wrote on January 8, 2015, 10:12 AM

Earnings or not, its good to like, if you indeed do.

caretakerray wrote on January 8, 2015, 12:44 PM

I do likes. Even if they don't count I want the author to know I liked it.

livingnow wrote on January 14, 2015, 10:15 AM

I know what you mean, I'm still hitting the like button even if I know it has now only an aesthetic function!

HappyLady wrote on February 5, 2015, 12:24 PM

I think we have all got used to 'liking' things elsewhere. i too prefer comments and views as the like system can be so easily abused. With a comment, you know someone too the time to read what you wrote.

cheri wrote on February 28, 2015, 6:05 AM

I am just the same. I cannot help liking posts that I truly find likeable.

valmnz wrote on February 28, 2015, 11:42 PM

I too still like posts. As say, it shows I've already read and commented on the post, or at least read it. So, I shall continue to like, just as much for my own satisfaction as anything else. And, it is nice to know someone has liked your post.

BrenndaMarie wrote on March 1, 2015, 4:40 AM

I like every post that I read. alright it doesn't really matter but, I think people like to see that their posts are like so it does matter.
