Catching UP - Wrapping UP - Announcing Exciting NEWS!

Hi Persona Paper Peeps!

Boy Howdy, it feels like I haven’t been here in weeks. Well, 10 days anyway. I’ve been peeping in here and there but I’ve had to be away a lot and I’ve missed you all.

A LOT. Thankfully, I haven’t been gone due to the head, though. YAY! (I'm still in pain, that doesn't go away but...) I’ve been working on my website and spending time with Maggie (my kiddo). I’ll get to the website in a minute, because I have exciting news to announce. But first I want to catch up with you.

Catching UP

How are things? What’s new? Oh, I read about Don’s reading contest. That sounds wicked cool. I’m not sure I’ll be able to hop on that. Though I don’t think any posts are excluded, exactly. I’ll tag him down below and we’ll see :) It’s awfully darn sweet that he’s offering up his next cash out to one lucky PP Peep!

I also know that tinamarie has been cooking up a storm lately but that’s also because I gave her a spot over at my place and I’m keeping an eye on her tasty treats for my own selfish reasons - to share with others, too.

And I’ve caught some of the updates going on - that we can now have multiple pictures on our posts. YAY! This is HUGE, especially since the other famous place just totally and completely WRECKED that feature and Mama is NOT happy about it.

No. I’m not naming names but I am seriously deciding what to do about 550+ posts that currently reside elsewhere. :(

Pfft. Let’s move on to the wrapping up...

Wrapping UP

I’ve decided to wrap up my sad Google story where I left off last. I only had 2 more segments to post and FOR CRYING OUT SOFTLY I am so over it.

Here’s the gist of the end:

I yelled at Google AdSense some more.
I whined some more.
I wondered about their business practices some more.
I yelled and whined some more.
I brought it around positively.
I ran off the rails one last time with some more whining and yelling.
I managed to tie it up neatly with some nice words about Ashley .
I added some nicer words about maelou and elitecodex .

The End.

PS: What I said about Persona Paper, Ashley, Will, and Heather, remains - no matter how the site is earning so we can earn too, they are doing an incredible job to keep us aware every step of the way and give us what we need and want; sometimes before we are aware of those wants or needs. I’m thrilled to be a part of a community such as this, where we are working together - writers and owners - for the integrity of the site. This practice makes us better and will benefit us all in the long run.

Announcing Exciting NEWS

Whew, I’m so STOKED about this piece. I’ve been spending an incredible amount of time working on rebuilding my website. You may remember this post where I said I was sorta leaving but not really...

Well, I’m definitely not going anywhere because I need you fabulous Persona Paper Peeps. :) I’d better explain before it gets too confusing. I tend to make things confusing when I get too excited, sometimes. Okay, lots of times. Let’s see here...

When I decided to dust off the blog, I had no idea that in less than a week I’d make the bigger decision to move to WordPress and build a whole website. It’s been HUGE and AWEsome and quite an undertaking. I’ve got some experience doing such a thing. And what I didn’t know, I found help - lots and lots of help.

I even got interviewed by the ad network (Qadabra) in the process - I’ll share that when it’s posted on their blog. I was crazy honored and humbled by the asking. Yikes. Bottom line, I made a lovely new blogging friend at Google AdSense’s alternative. Ironic much?

One of fun and fab features I am sharing on my site is a thing called “Your Top 8”. A place for all things having to do with eight. Originally I wanted to just showcase Persona Paper people.

I emailed Heather about this and she was totally on board with it. She is wicked awesome like that. And how could she say no? I’m promoting you all, linking PP; and each week, sharing 8 different Persona Paper people.

I’m still going to do that.

BUT. I’ve changed the page in that now anyone can participate. So, NOW - if any of you happen to write a post here (or anywhere else) that lists 8 (whatever) and want to link it on my site, just let me know. I’ll check it out and if I decide to put it up, you’ll be among the first to hear about it. :)

To get an idea of what I mean without me blabbering on about it, you can go check out the page right here .

No worries for clicking - I have permission to share it here.

That said, I will refrain from overloading Persona Paper with links to Informed Sharing (my site). Rather, I will be using my site to promote PP.

Now, you’ll notice that there are not PP Peeps showcased there yet. However, I do have my first eight chosen. And I didn’t play favorites. Oh, I could have. I know many of you from other places. But for this first go around I picked a couple that I knew, I couple that I adore, and a couple that I’ve just gotten to know from here and really enjoy reading.

Yes, choosing eight new Peeps each week will be fun and challenging and fun. I said. I’ll be writing this first showcase up as a blog post, either Monday or Tuesday and once it’s posted there, I will post here to announce who’s made the list.

I will also do this once per week. tinamarie has agreed to help me; which is SWEET because two heads are better than one and she is here more than me - able to find AWEsome Sauce writers that I might miss but need to be shared. The whole point of Informed Sharing.

To that end. YOU can share there, too, as I mentioned. Any time you feel like writing a post here that contains a list of 8 (anything) and you believe it has a place over at “Your Top 8”, shout it out to me.

You’ll get a link, your byline, and if you’ll allow me to use your photo, I’ll screen grab it - written permission is required from you to me. All this means is more exposure for you. I will lead in to your piece with my own blurb, too, so as not to confuse Google or Bing and not to ding you with “multiple content” problems.

There is no compensation currently for contributing to “Your Top 8” at Informed Sharing, other than link love, but I will be growing an archive of these blurb shares. Eventually I hope to expand on this and I am seriously considering guest posters and other opportunities for other contributors.

Stay tuned for that.

I will always make sure to run anything I do there in regard to PP, by Heather first, to make sure she and Will are fine with it before bringing it to you. I want to be involved here and I see this as an opportunity to share your brilliance and the AWEsomeness of Persona Paper. I don’t want to jeopardize any of it, at any time.

Alrighty, I think we are all caught up for now. I know this was long but I’ve been bursting to share and it’s been so long since I’ve been here. I’m going to spend some time going through my notifications - YAY. I hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend. I’ll be seeing you all around the water cooler this week for sure. emoticon

~ Cheers

So, Loudman - would this post count? I get nervous entering contests...perhaps, I shall sit this one out. Yes. Let's do that. Considering my next post, I've now decided, I'm exempt from your current contest set to end August 8th, please and thank you. Good luck to all posters :)

Please Note: Any links contained within the body of my posts may be clicked with confidence, as they will lead you to another Persona Paper post or person.
Thank you!

Please Also Note: I’ve broken my NO CROSS-LINKING rule but with express permission from Heather and Will. Thank you both BIG for letting me share all

these FABuLOUS writers with the world. I promise to share ‘em good emoticon

Find out how to link properly here at Persona Paper
and how relevant back-linking may earn you more!

Interesting stuff you got going on there. OF COURSE IT COUNTS. Thanks for entering. I wish more would, even those folks who don't like me or vice-versa. Pffft! This transcends mere "opinions." It's bigger than us. Anyway, Bringing some link juice to the site will prove more valuable than my silly contest. I'm just trying to get more folks submitting posts. :) BTW, where is the pain in your head? You mind me asking?

LoudMan wrote on July 27, 2014, 4:34 PM

And, you (and everyone here besides admin, myself or my aunt) are welcome to enter for the prize once a day until 8-8-14 at Midnight, EST.

SandraLynn wrote on July 27, 2014, 5:00 PM

Well I may have to be exempt with the next post, you'll have to be the judge of that, Don. Or I won't tag you. Oh, but you'll be tagged. Ugh. Never mind. lol. Yes, that is one of those ones you won't understand - till later. ;)

I wonder if folks are forgetting when they write their posts, to tag you (because that's all that is required to enter, right?) The posts are unimportant (in that there is no category for this contest, only that they tag you so you may read...) And I noted your update that they had to tag you in the original submission...

Okay, so this could be a slight bump but we'll just have to work on it. Peeps can be forgetful when stuff isn't right in their face. I'll make a point of reminding whenever I can this week. :)

My head - no mind you askin' ;) generally its on the left of my nose under my eye to the left side of the back of my head at the bottom, a very tender spot. Though it travels both in pain and in levels, depending on all sorts of things. I haven't been without it for 10 months now. None of my docs know what's what but they keep practicing on me. I'm on only one daily med, which has a horrid side affect and is supposed to prevent. It doesn't. But it does keep the pain down for the most part around a 6. When it spikes I take a heavy hitter that is only covered once a month so I use that sparingly. Besides the head are all sorts of other things happening and they've checked me for fibro - I tested positive but they won't diagnose without determining the headache cause because that doesn't explain it. Pretty much, they don't know what the hell... Bottom line? I manage. I've been not cleared for work since October and when PP came along I said, I'm going to write again. And now I've begun the website. I do what I can when I can, no more no less :) I know that's more than you asked for but... ;) When I'm doing all the things I'm supposed to be doing (resting flat most of 24 hours, low activity, low stress, etc.) the pain stays around a 4. I'm tired of not living my life so I deal with a higher pain level to "enjoy" my life. It's better that way :)

I am going to rest now though. I will be writing more here this week AND remembering to remind folks to tag you to enter their posts - just remind ME - that's all they have to do, right? Write a post, just the one daily (like "their best one of the day"), tag you upon submission, and they are entered - until the 8th at midnight! ??

midastouch wrote on July 27, 2014, 5:01 PM

that's the word to use
I always enjoy reading your posts
and I can't forget that I learnt how to insert links here on PP from you
keep in touch while doing your stuff on your site
we sure would love to hear from you every now and again
good luck as it comes!!!

SandraLynn wrote on July 27, 2014, 5:12 PM

Why thank you :) and YAY :) I do love to help! And I will certainly be here and there this whole week long for sure! I do love this Persona Paper place :)

LoudMan wrote on July 27, 2014, 5:25 PM

Yup. Just a tag. If they happen to forget to tag in the post, just tag me in a comment on their own post. I'll see it. Admn already has my coins, so someone is going to win them. emoticon
Really sorry to hear about the head pain. That's an unusual spot - especially since it "travels." emoticon
Yup. Until the 8th at midnight EST. Thank you.

SandraLynn wrote on July 27, 2014, 5:52 PM

Good, then I will do my part to let peeps know :)

And thanks. It's a weird thing for sure. We say, if it's going to happen, it'll happen to me, lol (ugh ;) ) We are grateful they've ruled out the "bigs" though. We'll get there, or die tryin'!

Woohoo - a contest with an 8 in it - oh how I love that squishy number :) This is a good thing you are doing!

GrannyGee wrote on July 27, 2014, 7:56 PM

I love your excitement ... it's contagious. I just subscribed to your website. I'm excited for you. :)

paigea wrote on July 27, 2014, 8:45 PM

I checked out your website. I'll be checking it out again.

AliCanary wrote on July 28, 2014, 12:27 AM

Awesome, congratulations on your new site, and thanks for the invite to write! Maybe I will look through my "Dumb Stuff" lists and pull out the Top 8 from there. Sounds like fun!

SandraLynn wrote on July 28, 2014, 5:38 AM

Thank you, GrannyGee :) I do love to pop through the screen! And YAY :) I promise not to overload folks with millions of posts everyday :) I'm very excited too! Thanks again :)

SandraLynn wrote on July 28, 2014, 5:39 AM

Thank you :) We love repeat visitors! And I'll be working smart to keep things fresh and exciting :)

SandraLynn wrote on July 28, 2014, 5:41 AM

I've been thinking of you in this regard and for guest posts, too, Ali! Specifically :) I'm hoping it'll be lots of fun. Once I really get going and officially re-launch, everyone will have a more clear understanding of how it works :) I'm excited!

tinamarie wrote on July 28, 2014, 10:15 AM

This is going to be so much fun! An exciting way for people to get themselves out there and be noticed for what they do. People sharing with People! SandraLynn , you my friend are awesome!

AliCanary wrote on July 28, 2014, 11:31 AM

Thanks, Miss Sandra! I am flattered that you had me in mind.

BarbRad wrote on July 29, 2014, 12:19 PM

I'm amazed you are able to write at all when you have such a headache. When my head aches, I can't do a thing. I take it you've had an MRI to rule out problems in your cervical spine? That's where most of my pains come from. I'm hoping I can get through the rest of my life without the major surgery that's supposed to correct it. Please don't overdo.

BarbRad wrote on July 29, 2014, 12:29 PM

You are awesome! I know what it's like to work your heart out to promote a start up site. I've been doing it for thirteen years now. I really want to see this site take off. I'm mostly targeting my recruiting to people I know can write. I'll be checking out your site soon. You have given me an idea about what my next topic should be. I'm just starting here. Somehow I didn't get the word until Saturday, and nobody referred me. Such a shame nobody loved me enough to tell me sooner and I had to hear about it on a post from that other site. I think I will be using a couple of my own blogs to promote this site now that I have seen it and used it.

BarbRad wrote on July 29, 2014, 1:20 PM

SandraLynn A funny thing happened when I checked out your website. I kept getting a pop-op message that said "The page at 'Ooops We could not loading. Please check your internet connection.'" My internet connection was just fine. I haven't seen this pop-up on any other site. The grammar isn't right in the message and it makes me thing something is going on here that shouldn't be. Do you understand who is? Might it be an ad network you are using? It just kept popping up every time I tried to close it.

SandraLynn wrote on July 29, 2014, 7:06 PM

Thank you for letting me know, Barb. I will email support at ReadyGraph about that. Unfortunately that grammar part is on their end (they are my subscription service) and I can't fix it. But I will for sure let them know. I've had several people sub in the last couple of days so I don't know why you were getting that message but you are one of two that saw it. I will hop on that first thing. Yikes. I am dedicated to making sure people have a good experience when at the site and this time here is for working out the kinks ;) Thanks again for letting me know!

SandraLynn wrote on July 29, 2014, 7:08 PM

PS: I'm actually going to use your feedback when emailing my support person. He's a wicked cool helper person over there. The grammar thing bugs me, ugh! As well as the error, of course.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 30, 2014, 5:35 PM

I think your idea to showcase PP users is fabulous. Thanks for sharing the link! I discovered Tina's recipe for gluten-free spice cakes with the help of your site, and have pinned it for future reference. I'm hoping to make it for family members who have Celiac disease :)

SandraLynn wrote on July 31, 2014, 3:59 AM

YAY, Ruby :) So glad. We'll be adding recipes every week and will also be doing some very fun ...well, I keep wanting to spill the beans about that but MUM is the word until we bring it ;) tinamarie and I have lots of great ideas for that page :)

As for showcasing PP members - a no brainer ;) She keeps emailing me names and I keep telling her "on the list, already", lol. There are so many good writers here ;) The only thing will be is having patience to see who is up next :)

tinamarie wrote on July 31, 2014, 3:13 PM

I'm practicing that word (mum)... OK, I said it at least 5 times so I shouldn't spill any beans either.. ohhhh... it's so hard... mum, mum, mum. It is exciting! :)
