Onwards and Upwards

My first few months as a freelance writer were extremely difficult; I was working long hours for low fees, and in the end that probably contributed to me collapsing in a hospital car park and needing to be electrocuted back to life. As time went on it slowly improved though, and my online reputation improved to the point where I was able to be more selective and charge higher rates. Since then my monthly earnings have fluctuated - sometimes decent, sometimes less so - but the trend has always been upwards. Now my earnings for July have just jumped significantly ahead of my previous best, and there are still four days to go. It's a tough target for me to beat in August but I intend to have a damn good try!

At this point I'm certain to break the $3,000 mark this month, possibly by a couple of hundred dollars. That's not a large income by any means, but it's heading in the right direction and it is enough to pay my bills comfortably. I'm increasingly confident that this is a viable long-term way to make a decent living.

that is very inspiring. I would be happy to make about $2000 per month from all my income sources.

There are millions of people who would love to earn $3,000 a month - at anything. Good for you. :)

Write. Then write some more. Then keep writing. It's achievable. The world needs words more than ever, and if you can provide them you can make it as a professional writer.
