My Original Designs for Christmas Ornaments
Yesterday, I posted an article about using the scroll saw to make Christmas ornaments. The ones I showed yesterday were ones I had made off of patterns from Steve Good. Today, I thought I'd share some of my own designs. I like them just as well, but not everyone will.
The one at the top is my version of a Christmas tree. I like the slant and I love canary wood, which is what it's made from. It is my favorite wood so far.
This one is my little snow man. I made the body as one piece and the hat as another. I glued the hat on. I think he turned out pretty cute. He is made out of Padauk wood.
This next one is my version of an icicle. I had some left over wood that had been laminate that I thought would work well for an icicle. My husband thought I was crazy but even he thinks the end result is cute. I can't remember the name of the darker wood in this one right now, but the lighter one is maple.
I had fun making my ornaments. I might try some others this coming Christmas.
