Throwback Thursday - Watching 'MacGyver'

Still continuing with my throwback Thursday posts. This time, I've been watching episodes of 'MacGyver' online. Learned about the 'MacGyver' series because of the spoofs done by ( or was it ) called 'MacGrubber'. The premise was that can get out of any dangerous situation and save the day by using the regular items found nearby. Aluminum foil, paper clips, bubble gum... name it and most likely MacGyver has used it to save the day. Richard Dean Anderson was the actor who played MacGyver. I don't recall any other movie or television show that he starred in. Too lazy to look it up online.

Anyway, I'm watching an episode now wherein MacGyver is pitting wits against his enemy, . Murdock was the Lex Luthor to MacGyver's Superman. Murdock has a flamethrower and MacGyver was able to fend him off with a bed mattress. MacGyver is making a run now for the mountains.

This is compelling .

What are your favorite old TV shows?

My brother was totally obsessed with him. To this day, he still calls how he acts as MacGyvering something. My brother is really handy and fixing problems and rigging things up.

Oh, he was in other stuff. I'm thinking he was in Stargate, actually, and maybe on a soap opera, like General Hospital or something.
All right, I'm gonna go look.
Okay, here's his IMDB
I was right :D

AliCanary , yeah, I do remember Stargate SG. I guess to me, Richard Dean Anderson will always be MacGyver.

allen0187 Aahh good old McGyver. In my country we use to nickname very resourceful people "McGyver". He was the man that would fix anything with a box of matches and a little knife. emoticon :winking:

nbaquero , MacGyver made the multi-tool pocket knife popular! LOL!

Ha Ha that is true. By the way, I also remember Richard Dean Anderson in another series called Stargate- 1 (SG-1).

Oh. Oh. I used to watch MacGyver and loved it. Thanks for the advice. I might download (or buy) old T.V. series like the Nanny and Golden Girls. :)

Tuffy06 , yup, if there is any series that I want to watch, I check online if these are available. Good to note that most old tv series are available, good quality as well.
