Hot Summer Fun

Omaha, Nebraska hit a high temperature today of 97 degrees, Fahrenheit . Hot hot hot by any ones standards, and unbearable by mine. So what is the best thing to do on a hot summer day? Go swimming in the river with family is one of the best options I can think of to do, so that is just what we did today to cool off. My sister, two of her daughters, her granddaughter and grandson, my granddaughter and I all went out to the Platte River to play in the water and walk in the sand.

The Platte River is often referred to as a "mile wide and an inch deep." Today is was shallow enough to walk 3/4th of the way across without getting your knees wet.
