Back From Alaska
This summer I drove my Ford Transit over 6000 miles from Omaha, Nebraska up to Fairbanks. Alaska and back. It was a long drive and I drove every mile of it by myself, which is okay with me, because I love to drive. I guess I should have been an over the road truck driver instead of spending 30+ years in manufacturing.
Anyway, the Alaska Highway was originally built to supply troop in Alaska during World War II, parts of it are still the same loose gravel and roller-coaster up & down that it was then. The portion of road between Whitehorse, Yukon and Tok Alaska is like a stomach flipping two hundred mile ride on the lonest roller coaster ever built. I got two big chips in my windshield from flying rocks and sometime the dust was so thick I couldn't see where I was going.
All in all it was a great trip and I would love to go again soon.
