I wonder what I will do to detach him from his 'best friend'

I am a worried mother I don't know how am going to deal with his addiction to the Television. My son is only 14 months old and you just can't pull him away from the TV screen. Whenever I get home from work I find him watching TV a times he doesn't even notice am home! Sometimes he meets me at the door then after a few minutes, there he is, watching TV. I have also noticed that he loves the local channels and advertisements, he doesn't like cartoons and kid movies. He loves watching one advert to the other. His nanny does not like watching TV i don't know what made him to be so glued to it.

Whenever the TV is off you can easily tell that something is wrong with. His dad has tried switching the TV severally but it has not helped. I have also tried playing outdoor games with him, jumping up and down like a kid but still he gets bored so easily. I am worried because I don't want him to be a lazy kid the problem is I don't know what I will do to make him detach himself from his 'best friend'.

What does the nanny do while your child is watching tv. You may want to find out as that is where the habit has been formed. Perhaps she is encouraging your child? Just my guess.

You were right, my sister visited me and she has been around for a couple of days, she confirmed it, my nanny is the one encouraging my boy to watch TV

When the house people are not around kids are kept busy so that these nannies can do their own thing and what they do is for you to find out.
