ARE INACTIVE MEMBERS STILL BEING DELETED?

One of my best friends jakidoodle is very busy with school these days and hasn't blogged for some time, even on her personal blog.

I do hope that the process of deleting idle accounts have ended since I'm sure that Jaki will be absent for a little while. My husband is a teacher like Jaki and I understand how busy they are this month.

It's the second month of the school year and it's time to submit enrollment reports. Add to that, July is nutrition month, and the teachers are also required to submit the nutrition status of their students.

My husband's class had one obese pupil and one underweight pupil. I just had to share that statistics because it made me smile that his class was balanced. These two pupils sure made it balanced, all right.

Well, Jaki just sent me a message on facebook saying she hasn't been able to write. So I'm asking if idle accounts are still being deleted. If so, are there any considerations?

All you are required to do is LOGIN once every 28 days. After 28 days of not logging in, yes, the accounts are deleted. The accounts ARE warned a few days before being deleted, so they have a chance to login before the deletion process.

I just checked and she still has some time... we are pruning accounts but its an automated script that does it. So she won't get an email until the 29th, and even then it won't be actually deleted until 3 days later. When she logs in, it will reset the time and she has another 28 days.

We want to keep the user database clean so we figured logging in once a month isn't too hard to do... I hope she can do that at least once before then :)

We don't currently have anything about posting, so she doesn't need to post an article, just login.

Thanks! That's good to know. I'll have to tell her to login. She's been out for 2 weeks already.

Just logging in and maybe leaving a comment or two shouldn't be too hard, I hope.

Not even that much.. just logging in will be enough to reset the timer to consider your account active. Although if she wants to make an extra coin or two while she's here.... :)

Thats considerate enough,28 days are enough for one to find just sometime and log in

Good info to know. Thank you and &elitexcodex for always being right there to answer our questions. In posts or emails. It's really important. In case you hadn't heard that, lately. :)

There have indeed been times when I've not gone online for more than 90 days.

I've just informed her about logging in. I hope she finds the time before the 28th day. I know she would love to continue blogging on this site, maybe after the "report-submitting" months are over.

I do like that line about the 'balanced' class! Good of you to watch out for your friend.

There are certain number of days that an inactive member will be deleted. I think it is in the FAQ.

I think so. My friend's account was deleted also but she was able to create a new one recently.
