Adding Comments Has Been A Pain

Adding comments has been a pain... no, not here in Persona Paper but in bubble land.

Yesterday, it was the 'like' button, today, it is the 'Add Comment' button. Well, the 'like' button still hasn't been fixed. Every post is turning into a post that I have 'liked already' even though it is the first time that I've read the post. I'm guessing this is an upgrade made by the site to prevent serial liking. I see no problem there as there have been posts about abusing the 'like' system of the site. Collusion is a term I love to use. Others call it 'I scratch your back, you scratch mine' symptom. Groups actually exist to exchange views, likes, and comments. Those are the claims and of course, people have denied these allegations.

Back to the 'add comment' button, after typing out the comment and hitting submit, the comments do not appear. It simply vanished into thin air. Pressing the 'add comment' button again will work but sometimes, you see your comment posted multiple times. Kinda embarrassing really but it is not the 'commenter's' fault. It is a relatively small glitch compared to the other site errors we've experienced before but it is still an annoying glitch nonetheless. I tend to type out really long comments relevant to the post so losing one because of this glitch can be frustrating.

I have been patient and careful not to have my comment posted multiple times. I type my comment, press 'add comment', and say a little prayer to the comment gods... works most of the time! LOL!!!

I usually hit refresh instead of clicking submit or re-typing my comment. Refresh sometimes work after a 2nd try emoticon  My guess is that now they are ironing out minor kinks (probably has something to do with notifications/ likes/ submit/ etc) that is why it behaves that way for the past week.

I'm not quite understanding why this is posted here on Persona Paper. There's nothing anyone here can do about it. Why not post this on Bubblews?

PenFlavor , problem still persists. In fact right now, the site is down. The site maintenance page is up. Been the case since 12:00 noon my local time.

So much for the big July upgrade claim...oh well, it is just the 2nd week of July so lots of time for them to launch it.

that is true one needs to keep on refreshing.

cruisincrazy , point taken. Just figured to post it here because here in PP we can talk about other similar sites which isn't the case in Bubblews. Plus, wanted to hear what others do in similar situations.

&Blabbermouth , no they haven't.

mercy540 , I've worn out my refresh button! LOL! Refreshing sometimes causes the comment to be posted twice or thrice. The comment becomes an eye sore.

The comment button sometimes acts funny on me. I just reload the page.

Bubble land has been a pain in my hinny all week.

vserrao1 , reloading the page works as well but it will be awesome if it works the first time!

You can say that for all the bubblers Paula76 .

If your comment doesn't post the first time, open a new tab and reload the same page. If the site froze up while submitting a comment (i.e. you got an error message of some kind) and the comment is not showing in the new tab, resubmit. If the comment seemed to submit but just got swallowed up, try going to the user's profile and reloading the post from there. Usually after this, you'll find your comment. If not, then resubmit in the original tab. You can use your browser's back button to reload your comment as it was written, because it stays in the cache emoticon
There's really no good reason to see duplicate comments on a post, even if Bubblews is really glitchy. But if it happens, please email tech support the URL of the post and ask them to remove the copy. That way the Bubbler who wrote the post won't have to worry about being penalized :)

Thank you for this very detailed response Ruby3881 . I'll try it out although with the new site, I haven't encountered the same problem. Anyway, glad to know this information and not need it rather than need this info and not know it.

Cheers!
