Helpful Internet Tips and Tricks

I'd like to share some of my internet tips and tricks with the Persona Paper community.

I think they'll be very helpful in the long run. Enjoy!

If you would like to search for public domain pictures:

Go to the Google search bar and paste these words ->

site:commons.wikimedia.org "public domain" <insert the picture you're looking for here>

Also, make sure to click the Images tab instead of the Web tab to see the pictures.

For example, I want to search for cats under public domain. I'll just put these in the search bar

site:commons.wikimedia.org "public domain" cat

And poof, now I have all the cat photos I can use that are copyright-free!

If you would like to re-open a closed tab in your browser:

Press Ctrl+Shift+T (try it with Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer)

If you would like to "screenshot" a part of an image:

Don't use Print Screen anymore! Instead, use the handy-dandy, Snipping Tool. Just find it in your Accessories folder. It's so much more convenient to use.

If you want to "zoom in" or "zoom out":

Hold the Ctrl button and scroll your mousewheel. Come on, try it!

If you want to open a link in a new tab:

Just click the link using the scrollwheel! I'm not kidding. That was actually new to me and I was amazed how easy it was. Ha!

And if you have "hanging" programs:

Then just press Ctrl+Alt+Del (also known as, the oldest trick in the book)

I hope my tips and tricks are able to help some of you here.

Thanks for those tips. I have learned something new today (which I always like to do, learn daily).
