How To Take Care Of A Leather Bag

Three years ago, a friend has given me a laptop. It costs more than a thousand bucks that time. She was abroad, so she just sent me the money and I bought it online. It was a German brand.

Since I have already a laptop, she sent me again a package containing a leather suitcase / computer bag. It's a bit bulky and heavier compared to other bags made up of different materials.

I have used it for two years but it was gone out of trend in the recent years. The smaller and handy ones were in fashion. So, I decided to keep it because anytime soon it will be back in the fashion trend cycle.I wrapped it with its own cloth cover bag then put it inside the cabinet for safe keeping.

Yesterday, when I was cleaning my room; I inspected it. I've noticed that it has molds. I was wondering how it happened. It was clean and dry when I wrapped it before storing inside.

I don't know much about leather. Sometimes, it also happens to my shoes and belts that I don't often use.

Any info or suggestion about this? Thanks.

I was curious how to get the mold off your leather case.... and I Googled it... this is the link to what I read about cleaning, and storing your bag. I learned something in the process. :) Gloria

I think one has to use some oil to keep leather supple, but I've never heard of mold attacking it. I hope the article that GrannyGee found was able to help you.
