Busy Day - Quiet Dinner

Here I am, at the end of a pretty stressful day.

I had to go back to my doctor this morning to check my wrist.

As my tendonitis does not improving, he prescribed a local ointment and ten physiotherapy session.

In the meantime I should rest my hand and wrist and avoid to lift weights.

I know I have to be patient, but I am very annoyed for this new problem, I had enough the last couple of months.

Back home from the doctor I have decided to prepare a nice dinner in front the TV.

As you can see in my picture, everything is ready.

I have prepared a dish of cured meats, cheese with grissini.

Hubby always drinks a seasoned tomato juice, I opted for a glass of sparkling Prosecco wine, I need to destress.

I hope you will have a relaxing evening.

See you tomorrow.

Looks like enough for more than two people, I am always impressed by the table you set. Have a destressing night.

Dinner looks amazing. I know I have to rest my hands sometimes and I get very frustrated.

I'm so sorry to hear that your wrist isn't improving the way you had hoped. That would be so frustrating! Hopefully the new ointments and the therapy work quickly and you are much improved soon.

LadyDuck hope you have a relaxing night, and hope your wrist improves as well. Although typing doesn't help.

Sorry you had troubles last night. Hope things are better today. The food looks yummy ... what is cheese with grissini?

Thank you, I like to dress a nice table, this is the little table in front of the TV set. I am almost ready to go to bed.

Right now my wrist hurts, I think I will stop everything and go to bed to read a book.

I hope so, I confess that I did not rest as my doctor said, how can a woman do nothing in a home!?

LadyDuck wrote on June 24, 2014, 3:32 PM

You are right, I try to type only using my left hand, but the habit to use both comes back.

Grissini are those small sticks made with bread dough, I serve Parmesan cheese and Provolone with those sticks.

I can tell which is the meat and which is the cheese, but what are the rings on the plate with the meat and what are the other two bowls filled with? It is an interesting meal, one that would not be common here in the US.

LadyDuck wrote on June 25, 2014, 7:42 AM

The rings are called "taralli", they are made with bread dough and olive oil and baked in the oven. One of the bowl is filled with potato chips, the other with "bruschetta" slices of bread toasted, oiled and rubbed with garlic.

Cool - I've never heard of taralli. Bruschetta, yes. And I wondered if those were chips, but wasn't sure. Thanks for responding. Hope my question didn't sound too silly.

Oh. You just reminded me of how much I love tomato juice. I must go pick up some V-8 now. :D

There are never silly questions, I am glad to reply, sometimes I also see mentioned food I never heard before and I ask what it is. :)

I remember that at New Orleans at brunch "Bloody Mary" cocktail was very popular. Tomato juice and vodka, for me pretty strong in the morning.

Tendonitis is a PAIN!

LadyDuck wrote on June 26, 2014, 7:31 AM

Yes, it is. I try to type using only my left hand, but the habit to use also the right is almost automatic and it hurts when I use it. I hope to solve this problem quickly, hubby is not very good in taking care of the house :)
