It will make you smile from ear to ear

During the summer there are a number of very special programs that take place. One of these is the Special Olympics.
I was involved with the Special Olympics Program in a number of different ways. When I lived in Connecticut we participated as volunteers at the State Summer Special Olympic Games. One of the most prized jobs was that of hugger, where you greeted the competitors as they crossed the finish line and gave them a big hug. You have never seen so many winners and happy faces as you will see at these games.
I have also had the opportunity of being part of organization that sponsored a Special Olympic Basketball Tournament each year and I have also participated as a volunteer at a bowling competition.
If you ever get a chance, I would encourage you to volunteer and help out. The smiles are guaranteed.
I am Ketchingup

Ketchingup what an inspiring post! Thanks for sharing, I am sure the smile on the faces of those competitors is so worth it and rewarding.

They were held in NJ this year and one of my former high school classmates / band mates is one of the organizers. He loves it.

As I am not able to get away for long, from my father, I have asked my two daughters to help on a continuing basis.

I have past experiences working with special people in my local area and I feel so blessed to be given to work with them and they gave me so much joy and it opened up an opportunity for me to know them better.
