Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening everyone! I know to most of you this is nothing new and you are familiar now with all these darn texting abbreviations that are used, but when they first came out did it take you a while to understand what was trying to be said to you? I know, personally, that if I didn't have children to ask, I would have had no idea what they were saying!

Here are a few that are commonly used:

TTYL - talk to you later

SMH - shaking my head

LOL - laugh out loud - this one I always thought meant "lots of love"

RENTS - parents? - I use to see my kids using this one and thought it meant they were moving out, LOL :)

ROTFL - rolling on the floor laughing

AFAIC - As far as I am concerned - I thought that my daughter was talking about her insurance (AFLAC) and spelled it wrong :)

BFFL - best friend for life

and my favorite one of them all is ILY3O3 - I LOVE YOU MOM ;)

I am sure there are many more that I have not even heard of!

Have a great day all :)

I have no clues about texting codes, I am of the old school, I like to write words that everyone can read.

I love the last one! Back in the 80s we would say "rents" for parents too :)

I need a whole dictionary for all of these abbreviations!
