Looking Back on 2018

Coming Up To Christmas 2018

It means that the year is nearly over. We have had Fall, Thanksgiving and soon Christmas and once New Year's Eve comes, the year will be over and finished with. So what will 2019 bring? I mentioned in an earlier post that a friend was nearing death. He is still alive, just. He is now in a hospice and is unlikely to last much longer, so he may well not see the New Year.

Making 2019

When the New Year arrives, many people make New Year Resolutions of what they will do during the year. I don't know whether our friend made any resolutions at the start of 2018, probably not. But if you knew you would not see New Year's Eve in 2019 (that is, roughly about this time NEXT year) what would your resolutions for 2019 be? Would they be any different from those you may be planning to set normally?

Resolutions 2019

I stopped making resolutions many years ago. But I do set goals, usually business type goals. My current goals are centered on producing low content journals for sale on Etsy. One resolution I will be making though, is to join the gym for my 70th birthday, which comes up during 2019. The past few years have been VERY busy, helping with grandchildren. I want to stay fit for as long as possible but I can feel it slipping, so a regular visit to the gym, say 3 times a week, or more if I can, may help to improve my fitness a bit.

I'm not into New Years or its Resolutions, but I tried the gym bit a couple/few years ago. Due to outside requirements, I gave it up. But for me, it wasn't doing all that much good, anyway. Too bad though, since memberships were free for me through my insurance.

Incidentally, if you should happen to be interested, you might look up Janus, from whom the name January (start of the "New Year") derives.

Janus the two-headed being who looks forward and back?
