My Motivation - Solution To My Previous Post.
Hey, everyone. I'm sorry for disappearing again, but I was busy with my work last week and then my Mom had surgery this week (she's okay, but everything went on the back burner for most of the week).
So, I think I've come up with a solution to my previous post ("Where Did That Motivation Go?"), thanks to some of the comments I received on it. :)
The first solution is to start creating a schedule with timetables, as suggested by MegL . I wrote out a "rough draft" of a schedule for myself last week, but I knew I wasn't going to be able to test the waters with it this week, so I'm going to give it a whirl next week. I may need to change it up here and there, which is why I called it a "rough draft" lol. I did schedule in one or two breaks though, so I don't wind up feeling burnt out or sick of writing. We'll see how it works out!
Okay, so my other solution requires me to take a step backwards, so to speak, but it may be a necessary one for now. I used to try to make AT LEAST $100 between Monday and Friday. Well, most of my work comes from Textbroker these days, and cash-out on there is Thursday nights. I decided a while ago (or well, either a few months ago or sometime last year) to start trying to hit my goal by Thursday. This meant working on some weekends or staying up super late (which has always been a bad habit of mine, but I've been trying to fix my sleep schedule). I feel like I may have put more pressure on myself than necessary, and it caused me to feel unmotivated and, yes, tired. I think feeling tired and unmotivated go hand-in-hand though. I'd stay up to hit a certain amount, and then feel tired the next day, lose my focus, etc. I feel the best way to break that schedule is to go back to the Monday through Friday goal, rather than Friday through Thursday. I'm thinking if I go back to the way things were, I may get that motivation back (not motivation to write in general, as I do enjoy what I do, but motivation to zoom through my work, take extra orders and finish at a decent time). Once again, my entire work week was thrown for a loop this week, so I didn't bother resetting my schedule/goals (I've known for a while this was going to be an off-week). Sooo, I'll be going back to the Monday through Friday thing starting this upcoming Monday. I hope this makes sense because it sounded better in my head lol.
I do want to thank those who commented on my previous post, as you were all helpful and helped me to realize what I have to do to get things back to where they used to be. I definitely appreciate the help! :)
