Facebook - Technology Gone Awry for This Guy

I decided to get rid of my personal Facebook account in favor of one closely tied to my writing endeavors. To that end, I opened another GMail account and started my new account. And all went well, just as I had anticipated it would. Well, it went well for a while...

Tweaking my settings to meet my desires, Facebook shut me down, saying there was too much activity on my account. They logged me out.

OK. Sounded like an honest mistake. At least that was I assumed. So I go to log back on.

It started out great. Then they told me to enter my cellphone number. Well "Hello, Facebook, I don't OWN a cellphone."

Do you know they wouldn't let me log back on? I tried the other way with an email message, but that didn't work.

So I did some look-ups to see if I could contact them to fix things. Naturally (not unexpectedly), they provided no real way to contact them. I did manage to find a provision that enabled me to send them a message finally, but only for something they didn't intend, so I expect I'll hear no answer.

Ah, yes. Technology will solve all our problems, in the future world peace brought on for the good of man... HAH.

Yes, I have found a number of places requiring you to use a cellphone to prove you are real. It's very annoying! I have been able to send you messages on your new account though! Unless it was the old account not deactivated? OOOO

Facebook... I'm quickly growing to hate the direction Management is taking that site.

Today I had a serious problem with Google Search. My browser is not fully compatible with the search box size settings to allow me to type in search phrases or words in that box now, unless I am using another browser. I tried two other browsers and Google worked properly but the one browser, SeaMonkey, the latest version released these past few days, I could only type 19 characters instead of the usual 30 and instead of the characters being left center justified in the text search box, the characters were upper left hand justified and disappeared off the box to the left if I added more than 19 characters in the box. So I did the thing I do best. I uninstalled my browser, thus, losing all settings. I had to go back to the step by step to get tabs restored, and yet, after all that, I still have that problem with Google search box. Well, It took me over an hour to fix and I am totally confused. Why does Google work okay with Edge browser and Firefox? Is it just me or am I burned out from all the changes? I am frustrated as all get out right now. Sorry you are having such a pain with Facebook.

FB make it very easy to sign up but very difficult to leave! Seems like once they have you they don't want to let you go and the latest algorithm is causing problems for people since it apparently restricts the number of friends you hear from.

It's amazing how, in the last hundred or so years, huge conglomerates, feeling their oats, have been taking over our lives.
