Just checking in

HI THERE - it's me, Rocco. Just checking in since I haven't been here for a while. I though I'd let you all know how I'm getting on now that I am no longer a puppy - my first birthday was a few weeks ago which means that I am now officially an adult!

Mind you, I don't feel any different. I'm still the same mischievious bundle of fun I've always been. I still lurk under the dinner table when it's feeding time for the family hoping for the odd dropped morsel (I usually get something - especially if grandad's there).

I still chew the odd slipper. I still scrounge whatever I can from my big sister and brother, and grandad is always a soft touch for a treat (I don't even have to put on my pathetic, sad-eyed expression!)

The only one in the family I can't con is my mum. She can see right through me! I know she loves me but sometimes, just sometimes, I wish she'd lighten up a little and give me a treat even when I don't deserve it.

I always get a treat when I've done my business in the garden but even the most pathetic expression I can muster isn't enough to persuade her to share her chocolate with me.

Mind you, considering what happened the last time I ate chocolate ( read about it here ) she's probably right!

Hi Rocco, Cooper had his first birthday back at Christmas. He goes for holidays with his aunt when his parents are away because his granny refuses to have him! His auntie says that in her house, "dogs are welcome but children must be kept under control and preferably on a leash!!" Cooper says, "A good job for my big sisters that granny doesn't think this way. But I LOVE my auntie, I get treats and the run of the house, lying on the bed and lots of friends to play with."

My dog has a companion, a cat. Amelie canine must always be accompanied by Hermione feline. I wonder what will happen to the cat if the dog goes? I'm not sure the dog would care all that much. Hermione is in the grips of unrequited love.

I'd love an auntie like that!

I'm so busy chewing slippers and digging holes in the garden that sometimes I forget about my friends on Persona Paper. I will endeavour to keep you better informed in future!
