I saw an Apple Maps van drive down our alley today.

If there were a sub-category listing 'REALITY' I would put this post in that category!

I was tying down some rose vines using hemp rope in the backyard when I heard a vehicle driving down the alley going west. I turned around and noticed it was a white van, with the words, 'Apple Maps' on it's side. I once saw a Google Earth car driving around the parking lot of a Kroger a few years ago. Well, looks like I will be on the map. I don't know if they edit out people who happen to be in view but I hope they edit me out. They got a good look at my rose vine and well, the old house too.

I had no idea Apple was up to this type of mapping thing before today. Have you ever seen one of these White Apple Maps vans in your neck of the woods?

Yes, I have seen a Google maps car here in the North of Ireland but it was quite some years ago now. Apple will have a lot to do to catch up with Google on this.

My house is on Google Street View along with my wife and her neighbour gossiping on the doorstep! Their faces are blurred out but anyone who knows them would recognise them instantly.

Well, since I actually saw that van with the cameras on and around it, I figure there is room for competition. By now almost every square foot of earth has been video mapped in high resolution, put inside a data base that holds our world in virtual land. look at this link.
