Sick and Tired of Greedy Commercialism Trying to Steal Your Every Last Penny?
It's a fact of life that in this world, one must earn a living, being paid, almost always, in the form of a common medium of exchange -- money. It is also true this has been the case for seemingly endless generations.
But perhaps it can be said as never before commerce has gotten greedy to an excess. They want your every penny. They love to charge even for things that should have been given away free ages ago.
I went to look at Captain January on YouTube just now. This movie was made ages ago, and was freely available for the public's perusal. Yet, when I clicked on it, the movie came on without soun d! And why? Copyright was claimed on the audio tract. If you want to watch the complete movie, you must pay $2.99!
Hey! Shirley Temple and the other stars are, perhaps all of them, dead and gone. The movie is dated 1936! Guys... that's 82 years ago. And for some years, one could download the movie for free. Some greedy sucker bought up the rights.
Now if it were only this flick, that might be one thing. But tons and tons of movies -- some of them even older -- are being taken away from the public.
Now that's G-R-E-E-D-Y. No, it is not enterprising. I re-iterate. It is G-R-E-E-D-Y.
