Do you think Texas is a good place to raise a family?

I was told by a friend that Texas was one of the few states never to live in for reasons that might be obvious to some but not so obvious to others.

Texas, it is a very big state and most people end up in one of the very big cities.

These days jobs are hard to find and the places one would look to move to would have to be where a job is likely to be found. Cities in Texas are where people from other states or even other countries move to, to obtain a job, to raise a family and be more or less connected with education, commerce and recreation.

Texas is not for everyone. As for Dallas, where I live, not for everyone indeed. But I am here. I live in the most popular city in Texas. Dallas is no. 1 for many reasons, not to mention, The Dallas Cowboys.

So, I just need to ask, do you think Texas, as a state, The Lone Star State, is a good place to raise a family?

In my opinion it could very well be a good place to start. The thing is, the cities are growing faster than the city can adapt to it. The roads are in constant repair. The overpopulation of Dallas has already stretched the transportation infrastructure to it's limits. There will be a need to improve all aspects of life for the future of Dallas. I want you to let me know what things you like about Texas, and what are some of the things you just don't like about it. I welcome your comments.

All I know about Texas was mainly gathered from watching cowboy films in my childhood! More recently, of course, I have learned about it from your posts.

I don't know. One thing I do know is that all cities have drawbacks. They do offer much by way of cultural variety and so forth.
