A Superfund Site in Nelson County, Virginia

Have you ever heard of a Superfund Site? It's a location in the U.S. where the local environment has been so threatened by hazardous waste, the EPA puts it on the National Priorities List. Such a site is located in my adopted home, Nelson County, Virginia. Most people think of it humorously today as located in the BREW RIDGE MOUNTAINS, because of all the craft breweries and a distillery taking root here, but long-time locals know it as the home of the American Cyanamid Superfund Site.

Fascinated by the story, I researched and wrote about that site, putting it into article form. It was released today on Decoded Science. Care to take a look? It involves an interesting rock, a downgraded hurricane, a few politicians, and a whole lot of intrigue...

And among the best takers are politicians. Not the politicians, surely... YUP the politicians.
