Delicious Restaurant Food

I'm like the next guy. I enjoy good food every much as much as he does. Doubtless you are the same.

But what do we find today? People claiming special talent, greatness, eclectic skills, mastery of all things food. Right.

Half raw, in weird combinations, pretty to look at but precious little to eat. Is this what you look for in food?

And even, perhaps more, do you look for strange people, weirdos, and every manner of oddball to be preparing what you will take in for your next meal? Or would you prefer a rather ordinary, clean-looking chef who washes regularly to prepare what you will eat?

Frankly, I like sensible combinations of proteins and vegetables, cooked to a safe degree, generally following traditional lines. I want a decent portion of food that does not have to be considered fine art. If I wanted art, I'd buy art.

Is this how you feel? Or are you into the kind of person who cooks on shows like Chopped and so forth?

Most of my meals are meat and two veg, with the occasional soup (made from chicken carcass and fresh veg) and omelettes.

This sounds like the kind of thing I enjoy as well. In fact, I suspect it is standard with our generation. For one of the vegetables, I prefer a starch. Potatoes, rice, corn, or something similar. What I always call a "hot platter".

Certainly, it is the way I was brought up and the way my children have been brought up.
