Columbus Day Sales

The commercial world wants to maximize profits. To pull in those who either don't or can't buy items at other times of the year, businesses have holiday sales. Not just the most prominent holidays.

It looks like many things go up for special sales on Columbus Day. Things of all sorts. Oddly, I found humor in one of the items. Buy a new mattress or bedsprings, perhaps a bedframe, and you will need to buy another item on sale. Linens.

I bought a new Queen Sized mattress, boxsprings, and bedframe. Now I need the linens. Why are they on sale at this particular time? Doubtless because when Columbus went sailing, he was three sheets to the wind.

Apparently, sailors had a 'sliding scale' of drunkenness! You could be either one, two or three sheets to the wind depending on how much grog you had imbibed emoticon

I can't help but laugh at your post. I bet that new bed will be very comfy. Remember that song, Wind beneath my wings? Well I think you know where this is heading. Not good to be the wind beneath those sheets, :)
