Is It Worth The Effort To Write More Here?

It seems that the era of the blog sites that actually pay you anything for your writing is over. Nobody really gets rich doing this. When things were going well, you had people gaming the system to get a nice piece of the advertising dollar. You can point a finger of blame at those individuals for ruining it for everybody else.

People will say that you should write for the love of writing, and I do. However, it's also nice to make some money while you're at it. It matters not if it's just enough money to grab a burger or a cup of coffee. I have looked around at this site today. I'm trying to decide if there is any value to me if I participate here more.

I have my own blog site slowly generating money. One day I might actually see a payout. This site never really offered a lot when it did pay, but it was nice to see your totals go up, even if it was just a few pennies at a time. It no longer pays. I'm amazed that somebody is even keeping the site alive at all. I hear the goal is to eventually make it pay again, but that will require more participation.

When there is no money involved, the only other incentive to participate in a writing site is to post something that will get views. When I viewed some of the recent articles posted here, it looked like maybe four or five people have read most of the articles. Is that enough incentive to post? I don't know. I know this article doesn't add much to the discussion. I have many topics I can write about. I guess I'm wondering if it's worth it to start writing more at this site.

Hello The_Observationist , there are a few stout supporters continuing to write here. At present, because the site is not paying, contributors can add a "family friendly" link to their post. Where a post contains a suitable correctly credited picture, the post can be pinned on Pinterest. That gives you additional backlinks and the possibility of more visitors to your own site.

We all have different views on what is valuable to us. I joined this site fairly early in its life and watched it grow into something which could have been a well-paying site with a large membership and a good reputation if the cards had fallen a different way but that was not to be. I have connected on PP with some excellent writers who have given me great interaction and I feel a great affection for this site and will continue to write here no matter if it never pays.

There are writing sites that still pay so it is not over yet but one high paying writing site is not paying USD but . 😊

There are still a few sites that do seem to still pay. Granted, there aren't many and it is getting harder, but there are still a few sites out there.

The best-paying site (once) I belonged to was Demand Studios, but it kept degenerating, so I gave that up. Associated Content was not bad, but it's history.

I didn't realise it was no longer paying. At $20 for a payout, I was never expecting to be paid anyway, but it is good to see the gold coins mount, just the same, LOL.
