Dallas is having a dry spell. Good morning persona paper. It's Thursday, September 21, 2017

Starting Friday, September 22, 2017, Tomorrow will be the first day of Autumn. Autumn begins on September 22 at 4:02 PM Eastern Daylight Time: also called The Fall Equinox

We have been having a rather dry spell these past several days. I have to take the garden hose out and spray the entire front and back lawn at least once a week or every 2 weeks. The veggie garden is gone. Nothing but shriveled and dried out bell peppers, pinto beans, and even the some of the rose buds have turned black.

No more new growth, not even grass. I had to do some heavy soaking of the pin oak tree in the back yard, and the fig tree. Then in rest of the yard I gave the 3 shrubs a bath. Then out front I sprayed the 4 cast iron plants that have all been uprooted and separated at the central root, then transplanted into separate pots. I had to use sticks to support them as the transplanting has made them droop a little, but I hope after a good soaking and adding extra potting soil and packing them down with my hands gently the sun will give them a booster shot of UV rays and maybe I can buy a few more potted plant coasters, those round plate like things that the pot sets into and catches the extra water as well as provides 4 wheels to easily move them in and out and round about the porch and into the house to place near a window.

The rain stopped coming shortly after Hurricane Harvey hit the Gulf and slammed into Houston. As you all know, there continue to be more and more intense tropical storms turning into hurricanes out there to the east. I only hope there is some rain eventually. It has been humid, and hot recently and the heat index is usually 5 degrees hotter than the actual temperature. I hope things cool down just a bit before the Texas State Fair starts. "Hello Folks, I'm Big Tex. And Welcome to The State Fair of Texas "

It may be that Dallas will not get rain for some time to come. I will have to Google it to find out when Dallas can expect some:

Some places getting much rain and others not enough. Shame it isn't shared more equably.
