Annual leave again

I am now well into the second week of my annual leave and I haven't stopped!

You all know I like to keep busy but I really need to talk myself out of it sometimes. Since finishing up work I have done two table top sales, hosted a bank holiday long online event with multiple sellers from multiple companies, made a new business contact for the other half's business, attended two business meetings for his business, delivered all my orders, took mum to a hospital appointment that ended up being cancelled (more on that in a minute), I took mum round a million or so shops today (sure feels that way anyway) and I have been at the dentists about four times too!

So the hospital appointment was nothing more than a wasted day! I drove an hour to pick mum up then drove over an hour to the hospital only to be told that the appointment had been cancelled and her local hospital and her gp had been informed and should have informed her, which of course they hadn't done! All in all nearly four hours driving for nothing, then there was a stream of phonecalls to try to figure out what happened, why it happened and what exactly they were going to do now. I mean you cant just cancel a really important test at the national centre for that specialty and do nothing surely? Turns out that is exactly what they are going to do!

The table top sales are starting to pick up, its the same place every week and while it started off pretty quiet, it is starting to pick up now and I have made a good few sales. I have also handed out loads of brochures which is never a bad thing, but more importantly I am meeting other stall holders and finding out where they get their information about upcoming stalls from which has already led to me getting booked in at a Christmas market that's sure to be a hit.

The online event was a lot of trouble because it started on the day facebook was playing up. It was making me approve all the posts but not telling me when there were posts that needed approving! The sellers were great about it though and it went well. I sold £200 worth of products through it and most of the other girls did well too. I would host one again, but perhaps not one that ran for four days because it really did take up a lot of my time.

The dentist has been an expensive outing. I had cracked a tooth ages ago on nightshift, I had seen a different dentist at my practice who simply took the broken bit off and left it for my own dentist, who was at that time away on holiday. So I waited weeks with half a tooth, then had another appointment to find out how they were going to fix it but they couldn't do anything about it at that time because I needed a double appointment for that. Then I had an appointment to scan the tooth and get a crown ordered then another to get it fitted at a cost of nearly £400! I also decided to look into having my teeth straightened which is going to set me back three grand if I go ahead. Tomorrow I get to go and see what my teeth will look like if I do go ahead, that's costing me £150 and I haven't even made my mind up yet. Well I want it done but I haven't worked out how I will pay for it yet. Don't get me wrong my business is doing well but we are putting all that money into his business just now so we can get that up and running in a few weeks.

We are hoping to find out in the next day or two if we can get a grant to cover the costs of the equipment we need for his business.

I need a holiday to recover from this holiday I think!

Yes, it sounds like one of "THOSE" holidays. I so often see people coming back from a holiday totally exhausted instead of rested. Think I will (continue) to stay at home, it's less work. :) I know the feeling about over-committing. I have been one of those too, peobably still am!

I am my own worst enemy really because I get so bored sitting doing nothing, I just always have to be busy. We are going to Edinburgh for a day trip on Friday so that will get me away from it all for a bit. I am especially looking forward to the Harry Potter tour and of course the National Museum of Scotland.

You have been busy! Be careful you don't burn yourself out before you've earned enough to pay for your new teeth emoticon
