Aargh! Foibles and Follies and Family
OK. OK. I give up. You win. Give me a break already!
We all have our ways. We all have our foibles. We all have our strengths. We all have our weaknesses.
For 35 years of married life, I've been trying to get my wife to spell just a few words correctly. Words that everyone knows. I keep being patient. I keep hoping. I keep failing...
I say to my wife, "It's Kleenex, not Kleenix. It's Kleenex."
I repeated it again this morning, after admitting some of my own foibles and referring to hers.
She looks at me and declares most solemnly...
"Why is there an "i" in Kleenix?"
"No, no, no, no. YOU say there's an "i" in Kleenex. There's no "i" in Kleenex. YOU say Kleenix."
I give up. Oh, well. Who am I kidding. I'll say it again. And again. And again...
